    Noob question. I've gone through this thread and am still not sure of the answer. If I were to have a full OME kit installed (leaf pack, shocks, and springs), what else will I need or is recommend? Thanks!

    71 pages of OME talk is a lot. I went with the springs and shocks, no AAL or spacers for a solid 2" of lift. I recommend you install the carrier bearing spacer if you have a DCLB/DCSB. Its not necessary to install a diff drop, but I did for shits and giggles (plus, I dont have any vibes). It's also a good idea to upgrade to a slightly longer brake lines (SS braided are the best). I've read a lot about the Taco lean, but I'm not sure what lifts/lift packages result in that situation. OZ seems to be the OME bible, so hopefully he'll chime in with some advice for ya! Edit: look at there, there he is!

    Either 883 or 885. Any recommendations? Any idea what type of rake the 883s would create with the Dakars in the rear?

    i'll let the OME god speak to it, but IIRC 883s arent made for the 05+. i'd go w/ the 885s if you dont plan on adding any significant weight to the front.

    I'd like to get 2-3", preferably on the smaller end. I would like to try to avoid the need for UCAs if at all possible. I'm not looking to go crazy on tire size or anything like that.

    and Dakars will lift the rear 2 1/2 - 2 3/4" so essentially you would increase the factory rake by 1/2" - 3/4"

    Why not the 885? Would that give him about 1/2 rake once they settle and a sturdy ride, but nowhere near as stiff as the 886?

    my vote is for 885x.. in your case you could ditch the top spacer.

    Depends on how you load them

    I carry 400-450lbs at all times between my commercial cap and tools , my Dakars squatted just about 1" over about a year with that load , but if I take out the tools , approx 250 lbs , they rebound to the height they were when I installed them

    I was under the impression the 885 and 886 were designed for 2", also that every new spring "settles" just a bit. I am painfully aware the difference in the new "X" springs, but for the sake of this conversation lets call that "sag", which IMO takes the lift below 2".
