    I'm not seeing anyone on that thread who has that same issue and runs 5100s with OME coils. Except the 2nd post, that member doesn't have any OME

    those are DSM uca(down south motorsport) but there are people with LR uca and tc uca with the same issue, so it's probably not the uca's

    I don't believe that's thecase with OME since they have the same travel as OEM. If the UCA hit the coils with an OME lift, then at full droop the UCA would hit the stock coil. The UCA is to gain more adjustment for alignment purposes with the OME lift.

    overextended shock makes a lot more sense right now.

    does anybody know what the torque specs are for this bolt? what if i loose this bolt a bit would it give me more travel?

    I'd be willing to bet it's someting that wasn't tightened down correctly (assuming everything is installed correctly to begin with)

    Do NOT loosen that bolt. That bolt keeps the coil on the shock. It needs to be tight and kept that way. Also, a shock's travel range can not be altered (for all intents and purposes).

    It wont give your more travel. I don't know that there is a torque spec on it, but i think that if you over tighten it would be bad for the bushing. For example on the rear shocks, If i am remembering correctly OME recommends only 3 full turns after the bushing starts to compress.

    IDK i took the coil and shock to a shop to get them swapped since i didnt have a spring compressor.

    Too few to list.
    There was a thread just a few days ago by someone who installed 5100's and had a "clunk". Turns out the coil when compressed was hitting the top mount surround. The coil was not installed correctly and it needed to be spun to sit properly.

    I can think of a way to test the over extended shock theory but it might not be the safest thing. Put the front of your truck on jack stands then put a floor jack under the tire, jack it up an inch then drop the jack and see if you can replicate the noise. I don't recommend doing that, i would be worried about the stress on the suspension, and the truck being stable. but if you are determined to find the cause of the noise you might be able to figure it out that way

    That could definitely be it. Its hard to tell anything from samsungs picture but it looks fine to me

    let me see if i got this right.

    jack your truck up so the wheels doesn't touch the floor (jackstand on frame)
    then put the jack under one wheel and jack it up about 1 inch then release the floor jack to see if you hear anythig?

    that's basically the theory of going over a speed bump and on the way down from the bump i would hear the clunk. now i think you would need the weight of the whole truck for you to be able to hear the clunk just dropping the tire down i don't think you would hear anything.

    Not to mess up the current troubleshooting session...but how many of you guys changed out the rear brake lines (extended SS) with the dakars?

    I think I have the clunk when going over this speed bump on my commute to and from work everyday. It doesn't bother me enough for me to care. Imo, i think it's the shock going from compressed to fully extended too fast as well

    If its not broken, don't fix it
