so how many people bought new top hat, washers, bushings and nuts? I'm guessing most people reused the old ones...

trdparts4u has the top hat, washers, bushing and nuts listed for $165.

    http://trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-9336

RockAuto and Autozone have KYB part number SM5640 listed for $19.65 and $32.99 respectively.

    http://www.autozone.com/autozone/pa...0m7iZ8oy8n?itemIdentifier=279553_726713_5538_

I'm curious to know how many people went with new parts here vs. the number of people who reused their old ones.

    1. How superior is the Toyota OEM parts to the KYB? I can't imagine there being a $100 difference in value.
    2. Does the KYB part number SM5640 have all the parts that I need to complete the assembly?

Now. For those of you with the "clunk." Did you reuse the old parts or get new ones? I ask you specifically because of the following link:

    http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=4028166&cc=1447055

Specifically, look at the second bullet point under "How to tell if the mount is worn"

My truck has always had a bit of a clunking noise since I bought it new. Only happens when u take off from being parked, and turn at the safe time. Don't know what it is, but oh well for now

Finally got around to installing the suspension! Like a doofus, I forgot to get before/after pictures as well as measurements. I'm really happy with the way the truck looks and performs. Smooth, but firm ride (very close to stock, but a tighter feeling). I was able to get the lift done, as well as swapping my old stuff onto my wife's 4Runner with a few friends in just a little over 3 hours. The pictures are pretty bad, so I'll try and snap some better ones at a later point in time.

And they assemble them for you. Win-win in my book.

    I'm assuming no "clunk"

Everything looked good, but how does it sound after a speedbump?

I already have the springs...otherwise I would have gone that route.

ohhhh..... Dang. Any ideas instead of forking out the price for the tsb's? I'm saving for the OME kit but need something in the meantime. Those rear leafs beat me to death this weekend on I-40.

Yeah. Toytec AAL is what I meant in my original post. Sorry for the misinformation. So, the 2" toytec aal? Would that not provide too much rake?

They have two AAL's. One is the 2", and one is the TSB AAL which is 1.5" (you don't have to have the TSB to get the TSB AAL). You will get some heavy rake from either one if you keep the front stock, but 1.5" will be better than 2." If you're wanting to go with the full 3" lift in the future, you'd want either the Dakar's or the 2" AAL so that your truck doesn't drag ass when you do the front.
