Planning on ordering the wheeler's OME kit in the next few months, eventually will be adding an ARB bumper and winch and a skid plate - is that enough weight that I should go with 882s? Single cab, 2.7l

Extended cab V6 4WD. Which coil should I choose if doing no rear lift and planning for ARB bumper/winch/skids? I will be doing 265/75-16 tires on 4" backspacing wheels. Looking for basically a stock stance with the extra weight of bumper/winch/skids

use 881s. Thats what im running with a arb bumper and stock skids. The front end is way stiff, i couldnt imagine any stiffer with the 882s or 883s. Also i gained like a inch in the front.

Are you running the stock leaf springs?

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
881s are stiff and you have a bumper? Damn

My 881s feel great even with the 10mm spacer. I came from 3" spacers but still...its a truck...

stuff and things that make it better
I have the same platform, had 881's first but switched them out for 882's after the addition of the winch and skids. Its not that hard to swap coils and I think the 882's would be pretty harsh with no weight. Sold the 881's for 20 bucks less than cost if you want to go that route.

I'm completely over my OME shocks. Roughly 13k miles on them. Rides like a log wagon. Really looking forward to upgrading. I have, however, enjoyed their springs. The dakars have been great, and the 881 has been just about right for my application (4cyl, bumper, sliders, skids, don't want much lift).

Not sure what you mean by which dakars? I do have an axle relocation plate in there that’s about 1/2” thick, so that adds a little.

Yes. The other part # for 1st gen dakars are for 95-97 models only. Their leaf packs are shorter iirc.

Thanks! Exactly what I wanted to hear. I don't think I'll be adding weight for a while, with the exception of a skid plate of some sort - my stocker is long gone (bought the truck without one)

I suppose I should go with the D6XL extra leafs as well? Planning on building a swing out and a more robust sleeping platform/drawer setup.

I have also been looking at getting the OME full suspension kit from wheelersoffroad.com, but I have a few questions and concerns before I pull the trigger.

For reference, looking at these: Not really sure what springs to get between the 2882 or 2883. My truck is a double cab 3.4l v6 and I'm planning on eventually throwing a relentlessfab front bumper, winch, and skid plate on at somepoint in the future. I currently have a brushguard on which adds a little bit of weight. I'm just confused on what the difference between the 82 and 83 are and which one would benefit me the most. The truck is my daily and I don't go off-roading too much, but I am trying to change that .

Also, does the kit level out the truck or would I need to get spacers for the front?

My final concern is actually how much lift I will get with this kit in the front and the back. Apparently when I got the truck it was "factory lifted" by 3" but I don't really see how they did it (still new to the whole suspension thing, trying my best to learn). After some reading I think they did a block lift on the leafs and maybe a coil over on the front, I can provide pictures if necessary. I just don't want to lose lift with this kit. I doubt that I will but I'm just concerned.

The time has come. Ordering my lift. Just gotta finalize options.
Would the OME 882 and Dakar leaf pack be enough and level on a 96 ext cab 4wd with the 2.7L 4 banger? Don't have any thing covering bed or a plate bumper. I do intend on getting at least the bumper eventually.
Don't want to pay twice lol. I have seen a hundred builds with the v6 and these options but none with the 4 banger. I'm worried about not having enough weight on the front end and it looking stupid.

Already have JBA upper control arms and 265/75/16 Cooper ST Maxx. I'm tired of rubbing at the slightest turn and my rear leaf springs are broken clean through.
