Just thought of this - your original coilovers may have been wasted. I know I came across this before just cant remember if it was here on the forum or in discussions with Wheelers (yeah, I went back and forth with them before ordering) - some see off numbers simply because their older suspension was just that - really old and seriously sagging. Just a thought.

I probably should have included hub the fender measurements, went from 20 1/2in in the front to 24 3/4in

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
I'm running 24 1/2 center hub to fender with 5100s at the lowest setting and ToyTec 620# coils.

Measured against a friends stock double cab I was 3 inches higher than him. Meaning he is at 21 1/2 stock. I think your old coils were sagging.

    Agree with above...

If its on the ground now, let's see it!

EDIT: just went out and measured again to be sure but I am sitting at approx 24" hub to fender with 881s/nitros - stock bumper.

@DashMaple your pic looks fine, I'm with @Uphillshunter, you were sagging bad. I gained 5" in the back going from 20 year old leaf springs to the Dakars. Had the same reaction, didn't think my leafs were that bad, since the truck seemed to sit level before the lift.

I don't know from experience, just that Ive seen it asked here more than once if 2nd gen coilovers/shocks can be used on 1st gens and the answer has always been 'no' as far as being interchangeable without fab work.

looks great - nice looking rig! damn, now perhaps I should take off my cap lol. Still need to swap out my wheels and new tires but I'm satisfied for now. Much better than those 16 yr old tired suspension components.

Nawww... only difference was the suspension and the locking diff. With that OME gear, i think you just took care of the suspension part.

Yeah its that locking diff im jealous of:D Although i think i can find a used rear end for around $600 which is way cheaper than trying to find a trd model

Dont RIP your CV boots open with that lower shock bolt. The OEM bolts go nut out for that reason. Went down that road, on compression and turning. There was no getting out of it.

I didn’t install it so I wasn’t aware. I’ll look at it. Is it gonna take disassembly of the front suspension to be able to flip that around?

Yeah on 883s I’m at 24” exact center of hub to bottom of fender flare. So the taller coils are gonna get you a little extra

    ooooohhhhh good eye!

I just pulled the coilover yesterday. Didn't take long at all. You won't be removing it so even shorter amount of time. Might need a second jack (i used the bottle jack), to put a little downward pressure on the UCA or upward pressure on the LCA to help line up that lower mount. Careful with any tapping the bolt into place to avoid damage to the threads.

Put the front on stands, high enough to be at full droop of course
Remove lower shock nut and then bolt
Flip it around and snug it up hand tight
Drop the front and once on the ground, torque it to 101 ftlb

As an alternative to doing it yourself, just go back to the shop that did the work and have them follow the correct orientation for that bolt. They should be fixing their work.

So the thing everyone overlooks... trust me, I did too - your suspension was most likely WORN beyond belief. That's why you are seeing such a difference. So just to put you at ease, have an 02 DC 6cyl Runner as well. 881s up front with nitrochargers being the only difference. I just put everything in last week and I am sitting @ approx 24.5 hub to fender.

time to start looking at some 265/75 tires ;)

Some find it hard to believe that their suspension was worn the hell out, not talking about the dude a few posts above.
