Good decision. OME coils ride really great. It is way better than stock. Don't forget the 10 mm spacer for driver side coil. Taco lean !! Cant wait to see pics !

Its going to be awhile but slowly but surely. And I never heard of driver side lean. But after I install it I will be sure to look for it.

Hopefully it won't happen to me. I'm installing the lift kit myself, with some help of coarse.

If you have new springs front and rear you may not have any taco lean. I have AAL in rear so my driver leaf pack sags more than my pass side. I have a 10 mm trim packer on driver side front and I'm still 3/8 lower on driver than pass

Need some advice. I just installed an add a leaf (D43XL) for my dakers long with a relocation plate to move my axle further back and give me more load capacity. A few things happened after I did this install.

    1) My parking brake cable is now sitting on top of the leaf pack
    2) I can't install the factory bump stop due to the axle pin being pushed back

Anyone run into these problems and what have you done to address them?

    1. You may be able to drill out the bumpstop to accommodate.
    2. There is a mod for the cable. You can see that you would need to extend the inboard cable guide brackets, which is pretty simple, just get some steel or aluminum stock, cut, drill, insert. At the outer bell crank connection, there is a specific little piece of angle iron to mod for that, I'll have to dig up the link.

Is this normal for the aal 3 leafs down to be the same length as the one above it? Its shorter on the back end only because its the wrap around leaf.image.jpg

    Quick question for the guru's:
I currently have a prerunner v6 with 5100s set to max lift on stock trd coils and a 1.5in progressive aal with the overload leaf still installed. Here's my truck
    [IMG]
Not sure if the rake is noticeable in the pic, but it has about .5-.75 inches more lift in the rear. I'm about to buy some 881's from a local tw member with 20k miles on em and am wondering if they will level out my truck with the 5100s set to 0? Also should i get the driver side spacer for taco lean and how big of a spacer? Thanks.

I think @MatthewMay1 has that setup....

As for the spacer, ome uses a 5mm spacer that slips around the shock body. Not sure if it would work with 5100.

Edit: whoops, he has the 883 and lift shackles... I was really off..

I had a set of 5100s and OME 880s under a 2.7l. I also have a set of Wheelers 5 leaf springs. I added a 12k Badland winch in an Elite plate bumper so I moved up to the middle setting on the 5100s. The ride was rough in the beginning but has smoothed out. Today I tried to max out and see what the new limits were like this and here's what I found.

The rear here is free. I was able to totter the truck with little force. The 5100 was nearly compressed in the front. I bounced up and down on the bumper and it was fairly solid. Maybe a 1/2" of movement.

The rear is stuffed and there's a little more to go on the 5125, as I haven't put in longer bump stops. The front is limited by the droop of the 5100 at this point.

I like your truck man, looks good. Is there a reason you installed your sliders backwards?

We measured it all out, mocked it up using jack stands, then in our inebriated haste to finish we marked and welded the legs starting from the wrong end. Did both sides on the bench and when neither lined up...almost shed a tear. Got mad and welded them to the frame backwards and called it a day.

It's easy to clean the windows now.

Nice, well they will still get the job done. And a clean windshield is a plus.

    Hello,
I am new here, and not a mechanic... at all! Just a 1st gen tacoma owner. I have a question for you all. I just got OME suspension put on my truck and it is riding way higher in the back then in the front. Is there an easy way to fix this?? Is adding weight the only solution?

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi and welcome.
Lets start with what kind of front coils?
Is is just a regular Dakar leaf pack in the rear or was the add a leaf installed as well?

It might just need to settle, the rear springs should drop a little after 500 miles or so. Adding some weight will help with the settling.

Thanks for the quick response BDN. Yes, its just the 881 set up, no extra leafs in back.
Great, this is what I was hoping to hear! Guess I will just put some weight in back and let her settle.

    Thanks again
