Do you have measurements from the hub to the fender (from what I can recall I'm roughly around 24" front/25" rear)? Just wondering if the rear on yours is higher than mine. Currently, my truck sits about 1/2" - 1" too high for my taste but I don't think I have as much weight in the back as you. I'm hoping that when I install a rear plate bumper and upgraded bed rack, it'll settle a bit.

Here's my setup for comparison purposes:

Toytec Ultimate Coilovers (adjusted for more height)
Dakar leaf pack/Icon 2.0 shocks with axle relocation plate (3/8" thick)
    SCS F5 16s 3.5 backspace
    285/75/16 duractracs

iirc mine was around 23 1/2 to 24 in the rear and around 22 for the front. Measured from the drivers side.

Love the OME lift but constantly dealing with torn CV boots really sucks. Blew through an autozone set in about 3 months. I really want some aftermarket CV's complete without having to do a "boot mod". They don't rip or wear from the fins rubbing, they actually just slip away from clip while the boot remains intact.

I just ignore it! :) Who needs boots?

OK, I have read through 137 pages of this thread and I am still on the fence as to what setup would suit me. 2003 Xcab, 2.7, 4x4 85k. I believe I am running stock equipment but not sure due to the undercoating. I don't wheel much except for some occasional beach travel. No bumpers, winches or towing. Just a 45lb front skid plate. Was thinking about the 880's with OME all around and maybe an AAL? I'm not looking for a lot of lift as I don't want to deal with some of the problems I have read about the last 4/5 nights (CV failures, driveshaft shims, axle relocation pins, drive-line vibrations, brake lines, trim packers and the like). My Taco is my D.D and working on the truck at my apartment complex is not an option, so installing the hardware and having a reliable vehicle the day after is key for me.
Will, the 880's really give any lift after settling? What would be recommended for the back? Would I be able to fit 235/85/16 without any rubbing? Running 265/70/16 now with slight rubbing on the frame.
Thanks in advance for any info. It has been a very entertaining couple of nights reading all you guys have done.

Sounds like to high an axle angle. Too much lift?

I only installed the medium OME kit. Its probably 3" maybe 3.25". I never installed the diff drop. At next CV change out I will.

Got a set of Dakars installed, the old rear leafs were the originals on my 2003 Tacoma and they were flexing backwards.
Now i need to stop being lazy and install the OME coilovers and to go get new tires

More than 2.5" is too much for the IFS design. I'm sure it looks cool but going beyond that stresses the boots and axles and you have little down travel.

    Will a full OME / Dakar setup I put on my 2000 Prerunner fit my 2002 2.7 4x4 SR5?

I recently wrecked the the 2000 after rolling less than 7000 miles on the OME setup. I'm thinking about pulling the OME components to put on my just purchased non-TRD 2002 4x4. Before I jump in, am I heading toward trouble or is it a clean swap? The 2002 has 50K original miles on a stock tacoma (non TRD) 4x4 suspension. I don't have a need to do the swap expect that I will be sending the PreRunner to salvage with a $1500 suspension that I just put on last Spring. Seems like a mighty waste.

    Any comments?

As long as the prerunner is a 6 lugger, everything should swap over.

Isn't the general rule anything over 3 is too much? I know tons of people that are a tad below 3 or right at 2.75 inches (myself included) that have no issues.

I'd definitely take it off. And call Cruiser Outfitters ask them. Kirk I believe is the guy who could definitely answer that question.
