    In my profile picture is my truck. Everything is stock the only thing I’ve done to it is added 265/75/R16 Nitto terrain grapplers to them. Makes the truck look a bit beefier. The rear leafs might need to be exchanged but I’m not too sure if it’s a necessity. And it is a 2.7L 4cyl.

    I would say a set of 880 or 881 coils, depending on how stiff you'd want them, and a set of new leaf springs due to the weight of the topper. If you don't plan on keeping the topper will change things. What do you normally carry around in the bed weight wise will make a difference. I run a topper and usually carry maybe 100# in the back. Go with some beefier leaf springs and then you can lift a little more using hanger shackles to dial it in if needed.

    I had a set of Wheeler's slightly beefier 5 leaf springs (4+overload). They eventually started sagging 10 years later due to the weight. So I combined the old leaf packs and newer ones to make some 6 leaf packs with no overload and it carries the weight very well now. It gave me enough lift for some rake finally. Then I put on new struts a few months later and raised the front ride height one notch on the 5100s and brought it back almost level again(881).

    Here are some spring specs. If I get another set it'd be 883 probably, but I run a 98# bumper with a 90# winch. Any reputable vendor here will know which will suit you best as well as many of the members.

    OME dia/mm ht turns Kg rate OE rate
    2880 X16 365 10.2 4.7 500 490
    2881 X16 375 10.2 4.7 500 490
    2882 X16.5 395 11.1 5.3 500 490
    2883 X16.5 375 9.75 4.7 590 500

    Thank you for all the help. I’ll look into getting this truck lifted. And everyone’s builds on here are so nice, I’m going to try to get my little taco to that level

    Rear shocks can be an issue as well. Most are either too long or too short. Another reason to use a reputable vendor that has sold many 'kits' or at least some decent advice. I can't help you since mine is sort of a one off rear lift. If you're not in a hurry you can get the rear lift on then take measurements and then order a proper shock Amazon Prime or something. Bilstein bushings are easy to swap out and replace with a Tacoma style bushing.

    Is anyone else top hat bolts short on their OME struts? One of my struts the bolts are pretty short the nut fully threaded but just barely.

    I went with the complete OME suspension kit after dealing with worn out shocks and mediocre stock front coils & rear leaf suspension. Installed is the following:

    883 front coils
    Nitrocharger gas shocks
    Dakar leaf pack
    AAL
    Exhaust bracket kit/greasable shackles/stainless steel brake lines
    SPC UCA

    on my old '98 Xtra Cab (2.7) and I used 881 with Dakar and it at level. I ran a 33x10.5R15 as well (some trimming).

    Pictures below all the info

    OME 882s
    Dakars w/ D46XL AAL & Nitrocharger Sports
    1” 4Crawler Body Lift
    SPC UCA
    Marlin Crawler Extended Brake Lines
    Whiteline LCA Bushings

    Sitting on 37” Milestar Patagonias mounted to 17x9 Dark Bronze F5s w/ 3.5 BS and -38mm offset.

    Contemplating;
    -Trim packers for the front but the rake isn’t nearly as bad as I thought, I do have about 350 lbs in the back right now though.. want to see how it settles before I make that decision.
    -TC LCAs to push the front wheel forward a bit, I put the body lift on in hopes of not having to tub the firewall as much, and think the Total Choas LCAs may further assist, but they are expensive.. when I pull the fenders and get a better look I’ll make a decision.

    Rubbing:
    As of right now, I can basically only roll straight forward and back hahaha. I just sat it down on the new feet to A.) see if it could, and B.) get the stock wheels off for sale. I have A LOT of work to do before I can actually drive this thing with full functionality.

    Measurements - Taken without the fender flares on, from ground to center of the fender arch:

    Before;
    Front Passenger 36.25
    Front Driver 36
    Rear Passenger 36.75
    Rear Driver 37

    After lift, stock tires;
    Front Passenger 39.75
    Front Driver 39.5
    Rear Passenger 41.25
    Rear Driver 41.25

    After new feet and a couple weeks of sitting on the new suspension, with ~300lbs in the bed.
    Front Passenger 42.5
    Front Driver 42.5
    Rear Passenger 43.5
    Rear Driver 43.5

    Sitting really even side to side, with a slight 1” rake on the back, again with a lot of weight in the bed. If the rake doesn’t settle down to the front measurements I’ll add trim packers.

    Can't wait to see this thing all trimmed up on 37s... I've read the "clear 35s on 3" of lift" thread.

    Are you looking at Fiberglass fenders?

    I thought about it briefly, but I’ve seen a few examples of nice clean cuts on the regular fenders and am hoping I can emulate, if I botch it then maybe haha

    Hello everyone. I am about to pull the trigger on a setup. I have a 2.7, double cab prerunner. The setup I am considering is a 5100's all around, with OME 882s, and add-a-leaf. My goal is for a small lift of 2-2.5 but was hoping to see if anyone has real world experience to share on how much lift this set up will give and what I should expect; I also plan on getting a camper shell. My use: daily driver with occasional trail roads. (Also, I am trying to avoid upgrading my UCA). Thanks.

    I wouldn’t go with the 882s unless you want closer to 3”s of lift. Same for the AAL, I’d skip that for the time being and wait til you pick up a camper shell to see if it’s needed or not. You could give cruiseroutfitters a call, they will talk with you about what you have, what you want, and how to get there.

    OME coilovers with 881 springs up front. Nitrochargers with Dakar lead packs with add a leaf in the rear. I think I need bigger tires.

    Someone can chime in if I’m wrong, but I don’t think you’ll need to do anything to fit 285s under that lift.

    You'd be looking at a 33/11.20-16 equivalent. Easily doable but not on those stock wheels. You'll need some more offset than they have. At the most you will need to pull the fenderliner away from the cabin side and behind it is a pinch weld. Use a hammer and beat it over to the side so that it does not but the tires when making a sharp turn and the suspension is compressed.
