Do you have the Dakar extra leaf? I hope I can run 33 12.50s with 883s. Same as 881 but higher load rate :notsure:

No, I don't have the extra leaf in my Dakars. If I was going to put on a topper or haul around some serious weight then the thought would be to do it.

About the 883, yes that is my understanding , they will support more weight if you plan to add plate bumper wench or belly armor.

I'm in Florida so I don't see too many rocks, I just wanted, needed to refresh my ride, make it more like a truck and not a low rider.

By the looks of it, I probably wont install the extra leaf right away. I'd have hella rake. Idk, I might. I guess I'll decide Friday when I do the install lol

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Question, OEM Dakar leafs are on national back order but wheelers offroad is in stock with a few sets of the driver side leafs (no passenger) which are 1/4" taller. Would it be ok if I just requested two driver side leaf springs and maybe run a 1/4" slab of metal under the driver side :notsure:?

I've read up to post #460 and got kind of impatient so here's my plan. Dakars in the rear and 882's in front if they're still available. Haven't gotten a final answer so far. My question is...

With a stock front bumper and no plans to add additional weight up front, would the 882's start to sag in front eventually?

My #1 concern is a square stance. I don't want a rake of any kind you can see without measuring. Am I being realistic here? Let's say it starts to sag. Is there anyway to level it back out with spacers or something? Thanks.

springs sag. end of story.... not trying to be a dick, but put the lift on you want and run it. see what it does after 6 months. if u don't like how it settles, change what you need to...
yes there are all sorts of spacers u can or different coils if need be. Having that attitude^ though of "No rake of any kind" is a recipe for disappointment. Every truck, every spring, every driver is different. Back to basics.... do some research for what u want-order, install, experience, change it. thats how it works:D

Stuff and things that make it better.
Without adding any extra weigh up front I think 882's are over kill. You should probably go with 881's. If you plan on adding the AAL (D6XL) at the same time then 882's would keep you closer to level, but still way to much up front. 881's and Dakar's (no AAL) will give you the best level lift for your set up.

    My two cents...

Thank you. Blunt is best when I'm asking for advice. I guess I get kinda stuck on minor stuff. Thank you for the info. I guess I can add either a spacer or a longer shackle depending on which end sags.

Much appreciated! I guess I always go overkill when I don't need to. I have no plans on aal but with a camper shell, would it be a good idea? It's a double cab if that matters.

Ok so I have a an 03 dc, and with just the 882 and Dakar I had bad bro lean. 1.5" lift shackle put me dead even without the snug top, and 1/8" to 1/4" lower with it. I require better load handling so I added the d6xl, and dropped shackles to 1" (toytec adjustable shackles). Just a thought, but maybe an adjustable shackle and Dakar might be perf to fit your needs.

If y'all don't mind me asking, what is the cheapest price y'all have found the complete package with Dakars in the back and what was it on? And another quick question, I plan on the 882 because I plan to install the lift, and then save my money for a plate bumper and a winch. I know it's gonna be a rough ride because of the tougher springs, but will it hurt anything until I can get the bumper on there?

882s are the same spring rate as 881s. They ride the same. They are just taller (20mm).

I ran 882s for awhile with stock bumper and skids. They felt the same as the 881s I replaced them with. The truck sat level with Dakars (no AAL), until I added the plate bumper and BudBuilt skids.

    I'll see if I can find a picture pre-bumper.

either 882s or 883s. I added a 1/2" top plate spacer to my 882s to keep the truck close to level. Depends on what you want/like. The 882s ride softer which is what I like. Easier for me to get flex out of the front end on the trail. Probably have a bit more body roll on the road.
