Yeah, my 2003 FSM shows 90, too. Page SA209.

Are you thinking of the Hayne's manual? I know they were misprinted somewhere.

    This: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/87093-u-bolt-torque.html

FML is it a 2nd gen page? Maybe that's where my confusion was. But it looks the same as first gen setup.. I've lifted a 2nd gen with buddy and rear shackle was different..

    Edit.

It is a second gen page, just noticed while that shackle looks like my aftermarket Toytec shackles, the oem 1st gen shackles have the bolts perm attached on one side.

This has been a nice rabbit hole. Guess I need to NOT have that saved as important truck info and save jiveydudes instead :)

1st post so please forgive me for not reading all 90+ pages (i did read 30+).

A couple of hopefully straight forward questions.

    My truck: 2003 extra cab- V6- 5spd- 125k
    _ stock bumpers
    _ no extra amour
_ 265/75/17 Goodyear Duras on FJ stock wheels

    Just bought:

    _ OEM 881s w/ 3/4" spacers
_ OEM Nitro sports (front and back)
    _ OEM Dakar springs
    _ stock shackles

    Questions:

    1) Ultimately I want a level stance (erring on FRONT HIGH)
Do I need to run the spacers to be level?

    2) Whats the general consensuses on ride quality for this setup?

    3) Which rear leaf bolts seem to always seize? Not the shackle side but the front correct?

    4) What size is that bolt? I would like to purchase before install.

Thanks guys, im really excited to get this new suspension on. My truck is scary over bumpy intersections and im looking for a carefree, soft/med ride.

    Pics for clics...... wait reference.

Well the 881 is advertised at 1.75" lift online. The dakar pack is advertised as 2.25". So if you add a 3/4" spacer in front, you'll be at 2.5" lift , giving .25" more lift in front than rear. Your truck right now probably sits .5" taller out back, so you're now (by this math) going to be approximately .25" higher out back. That's pretty level. These numbers in real life may be different, but sounds like you will be in the ball park with what you ordered.

Hopefully someone who has a similar setup will see this and post a picture with their results.

If the spacer measures .75", actual ride height will be changed by about 1.125" because of the IFS geometry. The placement of the strut in relation to the spindle gives about a 1.5 multiplier.

The original lift on my truck was exactly what you just bought. Tires and wheels are just 30's so they look ridiculous.

To try and answer your questions, the front spring hanger bolt is most commonly rusted but that doesn't mean the others won't be too. All the bolts can and should be purchased from the dealer. I believe Wheelers also offers the front hanger bolts if the dealership does not. That front bolt is some Toyota specific size, ACE doesn't carry it. They will have one that is close though if the need arises.

Even with the front spacers, the rear will be slightly higher, so yes keep the spacers on. There will be some settling of both the front and rear after a couple thousand miles.

    The ride is great.

I ordered my front spring bolt through wheelers when ordering the set. The dealer will have the part too.

    The bolt size is M14 x 1.5 x 100mm long grade 8. I think the dealership charges around 17 bucks a pop.

It was 12 bucks here, but yeah, not the cheapest bolt.

Thanks guys, lots of good info. Im surprised more people dont havent done this exact lift, its pretty standard issue?
But lots of you are looking for maximum lift and I was not.

Just in case anybody else is looking for this info:
    2003 Tacoma 4x4 V6

    _ front spring hanger bolt - #901-05-14025 ------- dealer ~$8 / online ~$4
    _ accompanying nut - #901-79-14039 ---------------------------/ online ~$1.50
    _ accompanying washer - # 902-01-14005 ----------------------/ online ~$1.50

    _ shackle kit - # 044-83-04060 -------------------dealer ~$133 / online ~$73.62

I checked out my hardware, it all looks pretty clean and not at all rusted. I think im going to see if I can reuse it. (forshame!)
