A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Go ICON or Fox even Camburg and Sway 2.5 then.

So I don't really know if anyone will see that I am making a post to this thread this much later... however, this is what I ended up doing.
Since the 5100s were out of stock for the longest time I first installed some Daystar 1.25 inch spacers. No pictures of this but they got the truck almost level. Maybe like .5 inch still of rake.
The 5100s finally came in and at this point I wanted to go a little higher with the ride height and get the rear 5100s since my shocks were shot. This is what it looks like now with the front set to 2.5 and a wheelers aal in the rear.
The 5100s ride amazing and I am really happy with it, however there is even more rake now than with the spacers. I expected some rake since I didn't get the eibachs but thought it would only be like .5 inch.(it looks level because of the slanted driveway but its not)
I really just like the look of a level truck so this is my problem now. What do I do?
    1. wait and hope the leafs settle a bit and not have to deal with anything else
    2. look into the eibachs and have to deal with cv problems and UCA problems
here is my cv angle now

if you get the eibach lift springs, im 95% sure you will have to get longer shocks. so that will equal a whole new shock/coil set up, not cheap.

i would just wait for the leafs to settle. just put as much weight on top of the axle as often as you can. if this doesnt work, i would take out the aal and get a smaller one (idk much about aal so im assuming you can get a smaller one). if not, take out the aal and get extended shackles which will add a bit of lift

also, i have the daystar 2.5 coil spacer lift with stock rear suspension and that gives it a little bro lean but pretty close to level. hope this helps

There are like 8,000 people on this website that run eibachs on 5100's...
As far as the rear goes, I got the 1.5 inch aal which as far as I know is the lowest. I don't want to downgrade to a block or shackles because before I installed the aal my leaf pack was shot(pretty much had no arc to it). If I take it out I will be back to square one, not to mention the rear 5100s needing the extra height so that they don't bottom out.

yea a lot of people do run eibachs/5100's, but that wasnt my point. i was trying to say that if you get the lift springs, you have to get longer shocks... heres what toytec says about the 3 in lift springs "95-04 Tacoma 3" lift (Will not work on stock length shocks)" which can be found about 5 lines under the price at
as for the aal, ive read that they actually decrease axle flex and stiffens the ride but idk how much wheeling you do to care about flex.

also, i believe you can actually put a coil spacer on top of your billies (they do it on the OME set up) for some more lift. check out this lift info guide http://www.customtacos.com/tech/index.php?article=137

Yeah I have thought about the spacer but don't want anymore preload than I already have with the 5100s set at 2.5. If I were to go higher I would just spend the money and get the eibachs. Just don't know if I want to deal with all the cv and Uca problems that come along with that much front lift.

Does anyone that actually has 5100s/eibachs have any input as far as whether it's worth it to get the coils?

I just installed the 5100's set at 1.75 and my UCA is already less than 2 inches from the tire. I am not sure if its supposed to be like that. Based upon this if I get new coils new UCA's are a must.

Norton, how are you liking your setup with the OME 881s? Have they settled at all? How close is it to level with your 5 leaf packs? Have you run into any cv axle problems?

I have my 5100's set at 2.5 (w/1.5 aal in back) at the moment and am over 2 inches high in the rear due to sagging coils. Considering getting the OME 881s like you. Also considering getting the 10mm top plate to get a little extra lift but not sure if I will need it.

I remain very pleased with my OME 881 / Bilstein 5100 / Wheelers 5-leaf combo. I've experienced minimal settling - perhaps 1/2" or so. My truck sits level with the camper top installed and has a slight rake without it. No CV problems yet (keeps fingers crossed), but I don't think my angles are too extreme.

    Do new tires count?
I'm planning on lifting my truck one step at a time, since money is tight. My plan is to start with 5100's all around, then eibachs when I can afford it. Also AAL's at first, then maybe new spring packs later.

Will it be a problem to put 1500's on the rear without any lift? If I get AAL's now, which ones? I was thinking toytec but I don't want 2" in the rear and have to max out the front shocks...maybe 1" shackles for now? Any thoughts?

What other misc parts will I need? Front shock bushings? Diff drop? Exhaust hanger? BPV extension? I also plan to get poly bushings for the rear springs, even if I keep the stock shackles.

    Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

    Welcome to TW!

Based on DSM's recommendations, you may encounter problems using 5100s without any rear lift. Details are posted here and here but, the bottom line is that they've found 5100s to be "too long for no lift". Instead, they recommend 5125s for "stock" height applications. I highly recommend a BPV bracket extension, but haven't found a diff drop to be required.

For the rest of your questions, I recommend you spend some time perusing the Tacoma Lift FAQ/Guide and Suspension Lift Info stickies.

If anyone is curious, I am now running 5100s all around with OME 883s up front and the wheelers 1.5 inch aal in the rear. I would highly recommend the 5100s over the stock shocks and would also highly recommend getting a lift spring as opposed to preloading the 5100s. The aal also put a lot of life back into my leaf packs.
