going with the ome complete lift. new leaf packs, 886 coils, new shocks etc.. will the lift from the 886's lift the truck to wear i have to do uca's? i've read that 885's give 2 3/4 inches. what about 886's. i run a plow thats why i'm going heavy. 95% of the time the plow won't be on the truck. i'd do uca's but can't afford it now.

btw what started all this is that i snapped a leaf spring clean in half. i want to do this once.

Yes, you do need new upper control arms. It will save yourself from a lot of headaches down the road. I have the Heavy Duty OME setup also, it's a nice all around suspension. The 886 will be a little tough on the front, but I'll be adding a bull bar soon. Hopefully that weight in the front will help, but I doubt it. I have the light racing uca's; no maintenance required. So far so good.

well time to rethink then. might have to compromise and go 885's. what would happen btw? stock wheel backspacing hit the control arm? could i use wheel spacers?

I have OME 886's with a ARB and warn winch, I do have Light Racing UCAs I have 4.5" BS rims and i have 285-75-16's. I had it aligned before the UCA's and then again after I did see a bit of difference in driving on the freeway.

You'll need new UCAs with 885s aswell...OME revised there springs a few years back to prevent sagging so you get a little more height. I'm running 885s with Bilstein 5100s with NO top plates and i'm getting 3.25" up front. Without new UCAs your alignment will be off and you'll trash your tires.

Check out Light Racing UCAs...best UCAs for you $$$ hands down and there fully adjustable

Without UCA you can align toe and camber to spec. Those affect tire wear. Caster will be off, but that just affects "feel"
