I am in the process of ordering the 887 springs, to replace my stock coils set at 2.5" with Bilstein 5100s. Looking for about a half inch more lift.

First of all, what exact part number are the correct OME 887 coils that i need to properly fit my 5100 shocks on my 2011 Tacoma? I understand they may be listed as "4Runner" coils. Just want to make sure i o rder the correct ones.

Next, which UCAs will be the best option for this setup? What degree of caster should i run?

I hear a lot of people running the Light Racing UCAs, ive also heard about a lot of problems with the ball joints in these UCAs. What are the pros and cons of the LR control arms versus other manufacturers?

    Thankyou all!

I've got a similar setup you're looking for. I'm running 5100's, OME 887 springs with a 1/4 top plate spacer for driver side lean. I ordered my OME from wheelers. .

As far as UCA, I have total chaos arms. My brothers truck is running SPC Light Racing UCA's and never had an issue. He's on a 4inch lift, maxtracs and kings up front no extra weight.

SPC light racing ucas are bitchin, the only issues in the past is when they used old style bonded rubber bushings and people didnt install them properly. Now, they use full free floating bushings and the latest gen have zerk fittings in the outter ball joint for easy lubing.

I love mine, super low maintence, no squeaking, and the ball joint actually has MORE FLEX than any uniball UCA.

Check out jba control arms too. Ball joints are easily replaced anytime anywhere

So those "OME 2887" from wheelers are exactly what your running?

Can anyone explain why on the wheelers spec sheet, it says approx 2-2.25" of lift, when i hear everyone else saying that this setup would actually give me 3" of lift?

I see i see. Ok, so if i order them, it would probably be wise to make sure to order them directly from SPC. To avoid the old style ball joint, as well as gain an added grease fitting?

One con on spc uca is finding a competent alignment tech.

TC uca is idiot proof but expensive

Yes, those are exactly what I'm running. When I placed my order I just filled out the little dropboxes they have for what you're running. There's a box to list out suspension mods if you think they are relevant.

No I don't remember exactly what my specs were, it was almost a year ago.
I'm not sure if 887's require uca immediately, but I don't believe so. If you have enough
Offset/backspacing on the wheels you should rub the coils or uca after the lift. I don't have a definite answer for that one. Usually aftermarket UCA's will help with alignment.

The 887 could are 20 mm taller as there made for a 4runner I believe, that's the exact setup I had on my 08 with taco lean trim packer and I got right at 3 in.give Marie at headstrong off-road a call and she will set you straight,I'm thinking about going with the JBA' s for UCA's on my new taco as I've heard some good things about them.

Right, i believe i "could" run them with my current setup, although ive heard that with that amount of lift, its smart to get aftermarket UCAs. Better caster angle, better alignment, more droop (travel), and less stress on other suspension components

How come you would rather have the JBAs over the light racing ones?

I have the 2887 coils. From OME all 2887's are 2887s. No matter if they are listed for Tacoma, 4runner, Prado, Ect.

The jba have a easy to find anywhere ball joint and are easier for alignment for the standard shop from what I've read.im still trying to decide on what new set up I want.i was told when I ordered my last OME kit that the 887 coil was designed 4 the 4runner but it can be used in other applications as well and is 20mm taller than the 885 or 886,been awhile since I was researching it but they do fit lol.
