887s on 5100s with an icon AAL here. Weighted down with sliders, victory blitz, and winch. Still about 2.5” or so if lift. On 265/70 17 tires

    hope this helps

You've got the right idea! Mine never squeaked at the shackle, only at the isolators. Just keep greasing them periodically and I'm sure they will be silent.

I never tried grease on my Dakar leaf pack for my 2011. I might try that on the next one. Mine squeaked a little a the beginning; I ended up jacking it up and jamming some pond liner material between some of the leaf's as a buffer. I did it as a temporary thing to figure out where it was squeaking from and just left it.
    I never heard it again.

I just had to pull up my parts invoice to remember exactly what I ended up going with.

    2 - 2888 Front Coil
2 - Old Man Emu 10mm Trim Packer
    2 - 90021 Nitrocharger Sport Strut Front
1 - OME95PF5 Driver Front Strut Trim Spacer
    2 - EL096R Rear Leaf Springs
    2 - 60091 Nitrocharger Sport Shock Rear
    2 - SB108 Spring Bushing Kit Rear
    1 - FK29 Driveline Fit Kit
    4 - U53A U-Bolt and Nuts

I researched a bit and went with this combo to future proof from sagging, even after I end up adding more weight to the front. I just went out and measured to be sure and have 23.5" hub to fender all the way around. The rear is probably as heavy as it'll ever be with 300lbs of canopy & tent, bike rack + hitch swing, and the bed is packed with camping gear including water. Much more weight than this and it starts to squat a little in the rear. With the tent off and the bed empty, I probably gain a 1/2"-3/4" in the rear. If anything, with the 10mm spacers and no additional weight, the front is a little too high. But, it should be about perfect with a low profile bumper and winch w/synth line. This is after a year and a half so it's not going to settle any more than it has. Although, I think those measurements are about what I had not long after installing.

I've just learned to live with the squeak. I live on a long and barely maintained dirt road. I'm afraid if I grease anything it'll just attract more dirt. They seem to be quieter after hitting them with the pressure washer at the car wash. It's definitely the isolators, or in between the leafs, though. I have tried hitting them with a few squirts of Deep Creep which works for a week or two but the squeak always comes back.

Pond liner though huh? How long has that material lasted in there?

It lasted about 8 years and 55,000 miles like that.
I was surprised it lasted that long.
That truck just got totaled so I had to buy a new one. I'll probably do the same setup.

No kidding, I guess i should look for some pond liner.

Bummer about the truck though. Hopefully insurance is taking care of you. Good luck with the new build though.

I have 887 coils on my 2nd gen and they have sagged a little. I have the HS 1/4” spacer on the drivers side for the lean. I was wondering if I bought a HS 1/2” spacer to put in the drivers side and take out the 1/4” and switch it to the passenger side if it would raise it back up to the original lift height. Thoughts on this?

Yep that would work for sure. Your going to have to pull the coilovers out, just like installing a spacer kit. I would not use those polyurethane spacers. I used the 1/4" drivers side spacer made of polyurethane and I was synching that thing up for 3 months.

yes I did this on my second gen  in fact I may even have a spacer kicking around in the garage. I’ll look when I get home.

so I agree with most of this, EXCEPT the poly spacer. I have used them with great results. In fact I prefer them simply because you’re not sandwiching aluminum between two pieces of steel. The two surfaces touching will eventually cause corrosion. But to each their own

For those of you running 888's with Dakar Medium packs, do you have any rake after the lift? If so, how close would it be to the stock rake?

Hoping to sit level or with a very slight rake from this setup. No heavy mods on the truck other than tires.

    Like, so many.
This is probably a noobish question, but how do you know how much lift changing the leaf springs will give you? If I go with 888s, how do I know which AAL matches that level of lift? Or, with the 5100s, do you just adjust the rear shocks?
