I took to my shop guy and he did a spacer to level me out again. Best option to avoid preloading. It’s been 3 weeks and I’ve been to Yosemite and have no complaints to the ride. I sit back where I originally was before sag, now it won’t sag again.

Has anyone swapped their driver side coil with their passenger side coil after a few months of driving and settling?

I installed a set of 887's on 5100's and have 1000 miles on the set up.

The driver side is sitting at 2.5 inches of lift & the passenger side is just a touch over 3 inches.

If I sagged out the driver side coil and moved it over to the passenger side would the truck end up with similar sag numbers on both front corners once everything settled?

You’ll have the same issue after swapping coils. You need a spacer to offset the driver side taco lean

I notice the same, it is the taco lean. You need this - https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p31/HS_1/4"_Top_Plate_Spacer_-_TT05514-TPS.html

That will even up. Hope that helps.

    Thanks @Norsk

The reason I’m curious about the coil swap is that I’m actually hoping to net 2-2.5” of lift instead of 3”.

I was thinking the driver side to passenger side swap could be a way to help achieve this.

Posted this in the "what did you do to your second gen today" but figured this thread might have more direct experience. I got my lift finished and everything bolted back up. Goes in for alignment Friday DCLB 4x4, 887/5100 with Icon RXT Option 2/B110. Measurements with full tank of gas.

    Stock - Lifted
    DF 19 3/4" - 23 1/4"
    DR 21 1/4" - 25"
    PF 20" - 24"
    PR 21 1/2" - 25 1/4"

Now I am planning on adding a skid set and am anticipating the front settling down closer to 3" lift. However with a 1/4" spacer on the driver side for taco lean I am still 3/4" lower than the passenger side. Should I switch out the spacer plate for a 1/2" plate or a 3/4" plate to get it even with the passenger side?

So trying to figure out what to do suspension wise when I go to do my rotors and UCAs. Ive been hauling my SxS alot so I have the AAL AND the overload spring in the back but it rides like a F250 in the rear.

The front is 5100s and OME 887s on the bottom ring/0". Shes sitting slightly higher in the rear. I can take some measurements if I need to.

Im wanting to take the overload spring out of the rear and go up in the front some since these springs have settled over time and I'm adding a hybrid bumper/winch to the front. How much height in the rear do you guys think I will loose?

Installed this combo. Surprised it has popularity
    F: 887, 5100 @ 0
    R: Wheeler's AAL + 1" block, 5100

    dealing with:
    -clunking
    -harsh ride
    -positive camber

thinking of going 6112/5160 or Icon/Fox/etc

Lowest clip, the one they suggest for OME springs because the preload kills the 5100 faster.

Mine did settle a bit and I also added armor that I didnt plan to add at the time so I have about 2-2.5" lift. Havent measured since the armor.

Another bilstein 5100 lift question for a 2020 dclb sport.
I’m going with all around 5100s, 887 up front, icon progressive aal in the rear.
Thinking I’ll stick a little smaller and go with 265/70/17 for rubber

My question has to do with removing or keeping the overload in when doing the aal. I’d like some rake to still be apparent, from what I’ve read on different forums the 887s are settling .5” to .3/4”

I won’t be adding any weight up front but I haul 2 dirt bikes fairly regularly. So is the rear going to settle as well?Advertised is 1.5” of lift without the overload. So if the front settles to 1.5” of lift that would maintain factory rake. But if I’m gonna have the rear settle .5” as well then maybe I should be leaving the overload in? Any experiences with it in or out/settling/ride quality comparisons?

I have RXT with 5100 in rear, haven't done the front yet. Not sure how the icon aal will do, but mine rides much better than having the air rides alone on old stock suspension. It sits really high and I need more weight in the bed to compensate.20210808_190459.jpg

The sleeves on the OMErear struts are nice. Better protection for the shaft. :bananadead: Better than the preschool ones on the Bilstein 5100s and that are flimsy and cheap.

This might help you out. I ran 887s with a AAl no overload and didn't carry anything on a regular basis in the rear settled pretty quick there was still a slight rake. My suggestion is I would use the overload. Here is forum maybe you might find some answers.https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/for-those-with-3-leaf-aals-overload-spring-or-no.682955/

thanks! I’ll check this forum out, headstrong sent me a message and suggested I do the aal and they have a 1/2 spacer for the rear that I could combine with it to help keep some rake. I was thinking of going this way to keep the ride quality nice without the overload. There would always be the option to throw the overload back in later too if I needed
