We'll see. I still need to figure out the shotgun mount and laptop situation before I try to custom fabricate a cage.

No mud flaps, plasti dipped emblems, and rear bumper, Weather tech digital fit, Bed mat from tractor supply. Pioneer 4400BH head unit. B.A.M.F bed rail tie downs. AVS vent visors.
Now this is cool! ya i say try and half cage it. a few of the game wardens around here have half cages. most are chevy 1500’s with a few ford 350 and some chevy tahoe’s for the supervisors, since they usually have a bunch more stuff with them.(stuff that has to be handed out, they will pick up from the one of the main offices 1h a way.)

SAS, crawler box, 14" coilover shocks, 39.5 tires, dual batteries, and a bunch of other stuff

You still have room for a crawler box for those times when your transfer case just isn't low enough. We should talk.

This is before I swapped in an FJ Cruiser transfer case.

Soooo have you done any donuts with it on the back trails? A simple winkey face would suffice. Ehh? ehh? And holy effing comms!!

But in all seriousness, sweet work truck and good luck on the donations from vendors. There is someone who makes that back seat metal panel to attach molle webbing and crap to it. I don't know what all you carry, but it'd be good for organization.

I've been trying to convince my job to allow me to use my Taco for work. I'd like to fab a passenger 240B swing-out mount and an M2 pintle mount up top in the bed. One can dream.

I've noticed that the steering on this '13 seems much heavier than the steering on my '08. Does it just need to loosen up or did Toyota change something?

Would you and how much to build me the same rifle mount?

Or a How To would work. :D

Really awesome truck OP. I drive a '13 interceptor AWD for patrol and still smile every time I get behind the wheel of my tacoma. Congrats and I'm sure your squad mates are jealous. I would be. Lol

Any chance you'd send me a patch? I'll trade

Man, I forgot how much the stock Dunlops absolutely suck. Tire squeal while taking corners at even normal speeds is not good.

Looks aside, I still overall prefer my '08. Mechanical LSD, no VSC, and the broken in fit and feel confirm that if I ever totalled my '08, I would seek out the identical truck, year and everything, to replace it.

Electrical is beefed up with bigger alternator and aux. police equipment fuse panel. Reinforced welds in certain places, brakes, radiator, different springs/shocks. Maybe it's better to say "special service"

Lucky. They get a TRD Sport. I could easily mount radar in the skewp!

The way I understand it, the Tacoma is being issued as the replacement for the Chevy Colorado and in any application where a full size SUV is no longer necessary.

The problem with being around to outfit the trucks is I'm one person in an extremely remote unit of a massive (area wise) state agency. Once I get this thing completely dialed in, I'll take some pictures and send them up to our main install shop, but that's about where my usefulness will end.

Cool Tacoma! It would make some sense to get some icon or king shocks to help with going over rough terrain as well as save money in long term with not having to buy new shocks.

That's probably where you are supposed to deposit the bribe lucre. Right out in front so they can see your hands.

Went out today to check on some communications equipment high up in the El Paso Mountains. Gave the truck its first scratches, all on the "skid-plate". I need to properly trail armor and lift this truck ASAP.
