what are my options if I want a second key. I only got one keyfob when I bought my 2017 trd sport... it’s a manual tranny

Is there a minimalist key fob or anything similar? Where would I buy a new key, etc how much are we talking?

Check Meso.... he's working on exactly that, a minimalist key fob.

With a manual transmission, you should have a physical key. So, by key fob, you mean the buttons to lock/unlock the doors, right? Not like the A/T which uses the fob to start the truck. Many places can code a transponder key.

    You have

    Right?

Yes.... y’all tell me... I am very ignorant in terms of what I have and what I need...

All I have is a key with the door lock and unlock button- and horn

Right, a transponder key. Many places can make those for you.

Will the minimalist thing work for mine also?

No, that's meant for the A/T fob. The manual transmission models still use a physical key, so if you want another key you just need to find a (reputable) place to program one for you. My local farm store offers the service, and I'm sure some independent shop near you can do it too.

I think the farm store near me charges $130 or so?

Try calling and asking if they program transponder keys.

My problem is this key jabs holes in my pockets sometimes. Wish they had made it fold when not in use like other manufacturer's

Check my previous post and cross your fingers. Can’t say for sure.... but there *might* be a solution for that problem in the works.

So to piggy back off this thread, I have a push to start and it only came with one fob when I bought it. Any thoughts on best method to get a 2nd fob?
