Think it was the perfect storm of events.

tie rod went which caused the wheel to droop too much. When the cv popped out of the cup the torque load must have snapped the diff tube. However the diff tube didn’t fully break there as there wasn’t any fluid during the repair. When I put it into 4wd to just get over a small obstacle it blew.

all in all in could have been worst but everyone helped (super thankful) and we had me up and moving in 2hours from that spot. Then drove home with a blown diff.

Well I know it is absolutely no consolidation at all....

But you are the first that I've heard of that scenario happening to them....

At least you were able to get out of the trails and drive home...

Now the "joy" of collecting parts and planning the repair.... (where is the exploding wallet emoji)

Maybe it's front locker time while everything is out,
and maybe even a tundra steering rack since the diff is out of the way,
    heavy duty tie rods,
    case of Scotch.
Might as well nuke that wallet good while it's pried open...

so here is the best part.....

the ADD diff tube is known to snap. Rarely it happens. The solution is the fj diff tube.

Well....I have that. It broke. So like I said I think this was the perfect storm.

Also, I am paying for gears and lockers again. I was already regeared and locked. Like I said. Expensive trip. If I’m lucky I’m out $700 for the diff tube. If not it will be close to 3-4K. That’s in parts and labour for the regear (I’ll be dropping the diff and everything).

    this is the add delete

    Lol could always be worst.

Honestly considering the situation I am happy with how it all went down. To be able to drive home with no diff fluid and the front diff turning the entire tome (my adds gone so it’s full tome spinning just neutral at the tcase). Could have been much more expensive and time consuming.

Well did a little testing today of Cameras, wiring harnesses and video computers...

Gerry rigged up everything on one of my workbenches using a spare 7" monitor that I have.

Mounted the two cameras for the rear bumper in a cardboard box and connected them to the wire harness.... and success!

Took a third Camera and hooked it upto the Video combiner to simulate the camera in my tailgate...

and again we have .... Success!

Top is the rear camera and bottom is the left and right bumper cams...

So it appears that the Cross Traffic Camera system is all ready to go in.
(will replace the factory backup view using the other interior harness)

Third stage in this project is the DVR and Birds-Eye system.
Initial test of all the harnesses and 4 of the cameras was a complete Success... BUT I want to change 2 of the cameras to a different type to mount on my Backrack so I'm looking into adapters for micro 4 pin to RCA and power... to add those...

This system has a quad core computer that not only does the birds-eye view but will remove the fish eye effect from the cameras when you set it up. With no lag.
Also has a DVR that works with a standard USB drive,
    Low Voltage shut off..
Parking mode motion and vibration detection,
    wireless remote...
It's a crappy pic with my cellphone but I was pleasantly surprised that the video quality was not degraded like on the 2020 factory systems...

Now to do the power wiring harness for the computers that will be behind the dash to the power blocks in the engine bay...

I am not looking forward to fishing all these wires though

    Think they will warranty it?

We should strap a GoPro to your Tit,
and have you drive into the dealership,
and record you convincing the SA that this should be covered under warranty....

SA would look like my Avatar....
