Finally completed the front suspension. Those of you who saw me at the meet, it just had the rear finished.
Didn't get a chance to test drive the complete build but will tomorrow. Might have some sway bar or ECGS issues but we'll see.

Eibach stage 1, 2nd notch. Icon RXT leaf pack on option #2. I also installed a lean spacer which seems to have evened out the front.

I am not sure about oil type but make sure you get the right gaskets and crush washers For your drain and fill plugs. They are very cheap from a Toyota dealer and good insurance and readily available.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...er-case-oil-change-howto.147631/#post-2933081

I believe this post was for a second GEN but they were identical for my first GEN and probably your third GEN.

These two threads helped me do all my gearboxes a while ago.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/front-diff-and-transfer-case-oil-change-howto.147631/

as @Norilsk said red line is good stuff …..I used the MT90 GL 4 In my manual transmission.
    • Safe for brass synchros, as it lacks the reactive sulfurs found in most GL-5 oils that cause damage

Exeter Toyota sold me the other gearbox oil’s in bulk

get one of these for your front differential drain plug…aka as Lexus plug

If you don't trust Motomaster or Royal Purple:
    Front: https://www.partsource.ca/products/2016-75-castrol-gear-oil-75w90-946-ml?_pos=3&_sid=10e230d68&_ss=r
    Rear: https://www.partsource.ca/products/...c-gear-oil-946-ml?_pos=1&_sid=63fcae52b&_ss=r or https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/pennzoil-full-synthetic-gear-oil-75w140-946-ml-0280200p.html#srp

I got some chatter with 75W90 in my previous 2nd gen's rear diff accelerating out of corners. Replaced the oil with 75W140 and the chatter was gone.
You can also use the 75W140 in the front diff as well. Possible fuel economy hit as the front diff doesn't reach operating temp in 2WD.
Don't use Redline MT-90 in the diffs - it's designed for manual transmissions. But Redline makes 75W90 and 75W140 diff oil as well. Your local NAPA or PartSource may have it on the shelf.
The external hex plug quoted by @ontarioyota isn't sold by Toyota dealers. Call up Lexus dealers in your area and see if any has it in stock.

I've changed the oil once before around 30k km so i have an idea of the process of what to do (i hated pumping the oil in but ces't la vie) but having the reference on hand will be great as well
but thanks for the heads up on the drain plug that'll be a ton better in the long run instead of fluffing about with the allen head.

Get a cheap weed sprayer, the pump bottle kind, and save yourself a lot of effort.

Here, they are about $10 at HomeDepot.

I listened to @3JOH22A and put 75W140 in my rear diff when we changed all the fluids doing the FJ t-case swap.

I work my truck pretty hard snow wheeling, figured it should have the right fluid for it.

I've used Motomaster without issues up until now. figured to ask if there was a general census of something being better than those 2 options (which is a little more available for me to get my hands on since CrappyTire doesn't close at 5pm like every other shop does....)

The plug is sold at Toyota, I purchased 2 last year for myself and @Joe23 before and they were in stock at the dealer in Milton at that time

Alternately a funnel and about 2ft of hose for the front diff. The funnel will sit next to the battery. Recommend at least 3/8" as the oil will flow slow. For the transfer and the rear diff the 1L gear oil bottles with a 3" piece of hose stick to the end nozzle worked ok.

Something may have changed in Toyota's parts distribution system. The two Toyota dealers I called in Toronto three weeks ago couldn't order it and couldn't even get visibility on regional or national stock level. Luckily a Lexus dealer in Markham had it in stock.

2ft hose will certainly help, i think i have some fuel line hose sitting around that should reach.
    Alternatively what @tonered said; https://www.homedepot.ca/product/rl...ranslucent-white-polyethylene-tank/1000184279
i'll give that a shot to see how it goes.

    :annoyed:
not sure how i forgot about the T-case this time around... thanks for reminding me.

@3JOH22A i guess you used the same oil for the T-case as the the front and rear diffs?

i've settled for Castrol 75w90 this time around https://www.partsource.ca/products/2016-75-castrol-gear-oil-75w90-946-ml?_pos=2&_sid=8a137fd09&_ss=r

Nope. 3rd gen T-case uses special low-viscosity Toyota unicorn ejaculate. See: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/‘16-newer-transfer-cases.636057/

Red Line MT-LV is compatible and has been used successfully by a few ppl here:

You can get it on Amazon, it's the cheapest I've found - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07GNT8WCV/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_5?smid=A23UD1NS9XDZHX&psc=1
