Where you guys buying your suspension systems? I've been debating on which one to get looking at the old man emu 2" heavy load suspension lift. it's at like 2,200.00 was wondering if there was anything else I should look at in the price range or even a bit more with reservoirs.

I'm ideally looking for a 2.5" lift all around

Indeed you did. Thanks for the heads up, I will check the U-bolt lengths and where they make contact.

got my suspension from BookFace MarketFace
    :anonymous:

OME Nitrochargers and OME leaves you can just go pick up at 4WP without much of a hassle. unless you're up in Thunderbay or something, then that changes things.

Suspension is also something you kinda narrow down what you want as time goes and depends on what sorts of roads you plan to ride.

Do you want to wheel to the limits of the trucks?
Do you want to enjoy some straight forward trails with some decent obstacles?
Do you prefer to jump onto grass and dirt trails and just enough nature?
Do you prefer to keep yourself a pavement princess?

These questions are also compounded by what do you wish to do with the truck moving forward?

do you want to go full Over lander, with a RTT, ARB Bumper, winch and entire shebang?
or do you want to go in the direction of getting something that works as a commuter and can do some interesting trails? so rock sliders, skid plates, protection here and there but nothing fancy
or are you planning on doing nothing at all?

Ideally, you want to add your weight first and THEN add in your suspension.

my first 2 1/2 years with the truck i was on stock TRD Offroad suspension and have survived it fairly well. i went with larger tires and protection before getting my lift.

    @StayGrease
    to give you an idea.
this is my steel RCI Skidplate after 3 years. (well after 2 but it hasn't seen much use inthe last little bit.)
    IMG_20210521_193551455.jpg
Not trying to install gear fear or get you to panic buy. But it's an investment.
if you plan on doing harder trails, steel overall is good, but if you prefer once in a while - then go aluminum for the weight savings.

Ohh good questions I mean I'd love to do the limits of the trucks without maybe the real crazy rock crawling. I definitely do eventually want to setup for the whole shebang with RTT a couple years down the line.
I'm currently selling my bike cuz I'm startin up a family and can only really have time for 1 expensive hobby so I am taking a good chunk of it too upgrade the truck and then some to save but I wanted to get done a front bumper rocksliders and suspension and then maybe wheels and tires. Im rocking the TRD sport. I do want to get things that I won't be replacing relatively soon so.. i got the stubborn mentality of buy things once.

Thanks for the help on this I have been struggling on this one.

I've pieced things together from various different shops over a number of months. I've had some things delivered to my family in the US, and some to me directly. Sorry, I'm not any help if you're looking for a full kit all in one. My lift is 2" front and rear.

Ohh Gotcha. Yeah, no worries I just want to make sure I'm doing the right stuff for the truck like this is my daily driver and occasional work truck but I don't want to be too limited on the trail side of things. That being said I don't know what level of trails are available in ontario

Ah fair enough, basically what most people go with in the 12 step program:

nooooo dont sell your bike bud, we're only just starting a sub group here!
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tacod-wheel-ontario-bike-shop-bs-talk.759280/
because of the gas prices going to astronomical heights, we've been coordinating and piecing together a small bike group to still go "wheeling".

Front bumper isn't hugely needed. As long as you have recovery points, you can generally get yourself out of most situations.

Skid plates, Rims and Tires, Rocks sliders, (maybe bumper) and Suspension should be the order you look at things. Bumpers dont see much action other than holding a winch, but you can do that later on and the weight doesn't help day to day. I have one yes, but i have a winch that i've used twice since getting it. but the suspension was the last on the list for me, take it from people who've already walked the path you're looking at going down. we are the best people to get you to spend your money wisely.

going "most expensive" isn't always the right way to go.

The bike I'm selling is this beauty (red one):

Honestly front bumper for me is more for aesthetics. I just want to see a nice bumper on the front end.

It was my dream bike, but the tacoma is my dream truck too and I'm a big camping guy which works better with a wife and kid. I need to know what suspension to go with though thats the thing I'm struggling for rn

then you really can't go wrong with the OME Nitrochargers and Dakar leaves. they are bullet proof (other than the leaves have a squeak to them occasionally) . the Aussies use em, we can use em too. Dont worry about the salt from the roads in the winter - just about everything seizes.

Yea I need education on the lockers and what that setup costs. I've heard they are pretty key offroading.

This is the suspension setup I'm looking at rn https://www.4wheelparts.ca/p/arb-ol...kit-heavy-load-omekit-005/_/R-BHWQ-OMEKIT-005
Also the bumper I'm looking at https://www.4wheelparts.ca/p/4-wheel-parts-factory-tacoma-front-bumper-61248w/_/R-4WPBR-61248W

I'm looking at getting the high clearance wings that add on to that bumper from 4wp

Keep The number of these posts you're making now. And in about three or four years you can go back and look to see what you wanted and what you ended up with. Some of us just wanted to do some gravel roads and some camping. But then the crack cocaine kicked in...... Whatever you do. Good luck with it. I would suggest you come out to one of meet and greets and see everybody's truck and kind of gauge how you'd want yours to be. I personally like the style of Tacoma 16's truck.

    What he said.
I spent idk how long but nearly a year looking at suspension? and then the Foxes i got were too good of a price to pass up on. so that was my final decision, price. It was more or less what i wanted but for the price i could afford at the time.
But yeah, come out to the Trucks and coffee meet up we're doing in a month's time (April 23rd) and you can see what generally everyone went with.

    others are "oh no!"
