These are not the same type of pliers. The equivalent to Knipex Cobras are Irwin Groovelocks: https://www.lowes.ca/pliers/irwin-2-piece-groovelock-plier-set_g1430622.html I have the 10" one and the quality is very good, useful for household work like the kitchen sink drain, etc.

The Kobalt pliers I posted earlier are actually sliding-jaw types, similar to the Knipex Pliers Wrenches:

i just got the OGE dual battery kit which comes with the ML ACR. seems like its the best on the market for a reasonable price.

I realized because of my dual 1/0 awg runs from behind my rear seats for the inverter (I can repurpose for aux battery + and -) and the speaker that currently resides behind my drivers seat (I eliminated the single seat behind driver a long time ago) I can repurpose amp + for bussman fuse box +. I can also make a box to house the auxiliary battery, +busbar and breakers for the amp and inverter. And maybe a little bit of storage for odds and ends. Amp should hit fucking hard being so close to a power source. And inverter should get all the juice it needs now.

It is pricey yes. But given I'm in the trade I know good wire crimps and insulation.

Everything has high heat 3m heat shrink on it. Talked to Matt and he's using high press crimps which are the best in the industry. Specd by lots of high end companies like hp and IBM in their data centers. And he used coated high flex stranded wire. Which is best for DC as it helps with oxidation.

Will be up in the spring. But just realized I'll need to make another jumper for the fuse panel. Thought the kit came with it but nope it's just the batteries.

I don't like that the kit comes with 2 awg wire. The battery holders look like quality for sure though

 

Those are manual crimps though. Not the same as high press. High press dies are like a hexagon shape. Much better crimp.

Enough pressure to turn the stranded copper into solid.

 

Mmmmmm.... Solid copper.
I ended up soldering all my connectors. More work but same effect. I like having everything I need to make custom lengths. Really comes down to personal preference I guess.
more time + less money + custom vs less time + more money + less headache.

Ya a few spots weren't good that's why we had to cut it off as redo it haha. But proper high press will be solid

 

Meh I priced it out. When you consider the battery trays wires and relay plus all the other stuff like heat shrink etc as the battery fuses it was marginal savings.

 

What do you use to cut the wire that clean. I use a hacksaw, and it makes it very difficult to put a lug on afterwards.
