I removed them twice this year, lol. Usually I am fine with them on, just have to be reasonably cautious. The stock exhaust hangs down way lower than the hoops so you have to take that into account also.

I went from OEM Cast aluminum steps to the Predators and I think they look awesome and work very well for my kids and mom.

Having said that, I regret not getting sliders. I’m going to sell mine and get sliders very soon.

Also, I was shocked at how light the Predator steps are. The cast aluminum boards were pretty heavy. The Predator steps can easily be held up with one hand. Too light in my opinion.

I love the look of the Predators. I remember how light the stock boards were. I will probably go with actual sliders before too long. My wife couldn't stand the stock running boards, and they were useless so I put these cheapies on to "make due." These things are fairly heavy, about 80 pounds together, and that is probably not good Vs. the light weight non sliders. If I do get hung up on something they will probably be just solid enough to cause some major damage. I have been eyeballing front bumpers lately so new front suspension is on the list and of course I have to upgrade the rear and ....it never ends. Good Times!

My new truck came with the Predator step things. I didn't want them or pay for them...already signed all the paperwork, my salesman tried to get the dealership he got the truck from to take them off, but they wouldn't, that's how I got them free.

I owned a Jeep 14 years, and the only off roading I did was the beach, and driving thru some ditches to get around downed trees during Mathew, and Irma.

Only reason I'd want/need sliders are to prevent door dings. I'm on their website now, and the bolt on set with powdercoat and kickout are $899.

Will they really keep doors from contacting mine? Is there a cheaper route due to that's the only reason I'd want them?

Yeah I'm a beach and mall crawler that just happened to love the Tacoma's. Wanted one for years, and paid just about as much for it as I did my first house...I wanna keep it nice.

If you are patient, the nerf bars go on CL for about $200. They are very common dealer add ons that people remove. Less common are dealer sliders, but can also be found for about $200 if you are patient.

They are very very simple to install, even by yourself as long as you have a decent set of wrenches or impact driver. I recommend always start the bolt by hand to ensure you dont cross thread, but they come off in minutes if you are planning on any off roading where they could snag.

For the most part, they help kids, older people or people with injuries get in the truck.

Sliders can be used as a step, but are not as good.
Nerf bars cannot really be used as a slider.
Nerf bars can also prevent door dings, but realistically the odds that a door contacts the bar or slider before anything else is wishful thinking.

I apologize I should have read the description alittle more instead of jumping the gun. Any issues or regrets?

Agreed. Is your Pro Grille OEM or aftermarket?

Love the “trail limo”. I’m happy I went with the long bed, but got an access cab this time around.

No issues? I’m looking at the seven Sparta off Amazon and truly it looks OEM. So for me it’s no big deal to have aftermarket.

My ONLY regret after buying my 2021 TRD Off Road is getting the Predator Tube Steps. In my first off road adventure, they scraped multiple times and also were bent after crossing a stream bed and hitting a rock. Granted, it was some pretty serious terrain, but why the heck would I want steps that reduce the ground clearance by like four inches?
