    Will putting a brand new optima battery that has 800 cca affect anything? I know its a bigger battery and all but just wanted to check.

    but no risk of frying the elec system. I know its a basic 12volt system but the starting at 800 amps is what i was worried about. And im in FL coldest ive seen is 40's in Feb

    I had the Red Top D34/78 with 800cca and it works fine in the Tacoma. I now have the Yellow Top D34/78 with 750cca and didn't notice a difference.

    800 cca just means it can supply that much, your starter will still only draw what it needs, due to ohm's law and such, so no worries.

    Yall are running the D34?? I bought a yellow Top D34 and it didnt fit, took it to toyota they all said its too small. so i bought a $100 toyota battery and returned the 245 yellow top. I'll get a d35 next time
