I have a 2008 4x4 2.7 standard Access Cab Tacoma. I looked in the owner's manual for rpm range in a particular gear and could only find maximums. Does anyone know where I could find information on the optimum rpm for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th gear for better fuel economy. Thanks.

I have a six and six, and I am shifting at 2000 rpm and between 2100-2300 when cruising in any gear above 3rd. The general terrain and environment will determine your "comfort level" with your R's. Watch tire pressure, air filter, and your personal driving characteristics. In other words: drive like you're an old man !
