Having an ACL reconstruction on Wednesday. :( I'm tryin to talk a couple of my buddies in coming to the meet to ride shotgun so they can spot and help with recoveries.

p.s., I've never been to a Taco meet -- is it bad form to invite friends who drive Jeeps and or LR Disco's?? You can be honest, you wont hurt anybodys feelings if its supposed to be Tacos only. :)

Ahh well thats no good. Hope its healed enought to come. Deff bring a co-pilot tho... I always bring one who is wheeling educated to help with like you said spotting and such.

As for the meet itself its just a Toyota thing. Now I cant speak for everyone but I dont mind so much if a runner or FJ come since there in the family but a jeep or LR may be pushing it. Not saying RR or LR are bad but funny story... I had to pull a Range Rover out of the snow two days ago up on the road to clear lake.. Who goes snow weeling (3ft deep in some spots) wearing sneakers blue jeans and t-shirts, with a stock height RR and no recovery gear except a 20' open hook tow strap? crazy kids these days haha

I might be interested in coming depending on the weather and the date you choose. I've never been to a meet before and was woundering if this would be suitable for my wife and 3 year old boy to attend. I vote Browns Camp. Thanks.

Pictures from today's scouting trip. I have an uncanny ability to make rough spots look lame, so bear with, but I hope to get you guys excited with the trail layouts at least.

The first pic is Firebreak 5, which has changed quite a bit since last year..
Essentially, if you are heading up the trail from the base, there's the 'big rock' which sits in the middle of the trail. Last summer it was that the right side was the easy path - it was still more suitable for the hardcore guys, and needed a bit of controlled speed.
Over the winter, it's been chewed up by the crawlers on both sides and deepened. The right side is much more difficult with several ledges and pits. On the left side, the hill is a bit carved out and the path depened, but with a good line ends up being a doable way.

In the pic you can see us taking the left side.
James here is actually attempting a pretty tricky spot, despite what the camera is showing. The rock in front of him is actually about half as tall as the tire, you just can't see it due to the shadow. After the rock is a big enough drop that he wouldn't have enough clearance, so he has to straddle the rock and make sure it doesn't bonk the UCA or axle. While doing this he's got to make the passenger rear bounce up two rock stairs - you can see he's got some pretty good flex to overcome as well.

Nope we managed to make it the enitre trip with no winching needed. It was a blast. Cant wait to go in June... I want to finish the trail from the first few pics.

Mike good pics but your right... Pictures dont do any justice. Ill try and post mine Thursday.

My CB stopped turning on also, im going to check the fuse when I get a chance but just thought it was strange that it wont turn on now.

Cool. A couple of us are thinking about joining you guys in June. Did you run into any snow/ice remnants at all? Looking forward to more pics.

Only enough for the dog to lie in :)

James I'd be curious if any of the solder connections broke. Sounds like it's time to do a continuity test again :(

I updated the Northwest Oregon Scheduled Meet Calendar thread to keep track of attendance and do all my formal yippity-yap. Post here or there if you are attending. I'm hoping to get the following info:

caravan 1 or 2 (or none)
    dates attending
    experience (new/easy/medium/hard)

Badlands front bumper with a Smittybilt 8K winch, synthetic winch line. Demello sliders and bedbar. Custom rear bumper. Custom skid plates. Flex-a-lite tranny cooler with fan mounted in bed. Bilstein 5100's with SAW coils, AllPro UCAs, NW offroad rear springs (garbage), 4.88s and front and rear lockrights. Lots of custom sheetmetal work.
Can you guys tell me if I need a OHV tag on my tow rig as well? Up here in WA you do at some places. Or will I be ok without one in the campground? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you only need it to use the trails so it has to be on the trail rig.
