Not aware of a rechargeable polisher that could do a whole car. I have a porter cable 7424 and a Flex 3401. Flex is hands down a better machine.

I have a griots garage random orbital .
Like you , my arms and hands got painfull after buffing the truck with sealers , then polish , then wax
EDIT . This cuts an 8 hour job down to 1 hour

Well worth the cash . Here is an example .
    https://www.griotsgarage.com/product/griots+garage+random+orbital.do

The pads are pricey but work very well

Why did I buy it ?
I researched the detailing thread at Tacoma World and that is what most guys are using .

I stand corrected....Flex just unveiled battery powered polishers at SEMA today.

There are a couple cordless orbitals on the market that might work ok to apply a coat of liquid wax/sealant to a vehicle. I think Griots makes one. But they’re not gonna get you through a polishing session.

I have the Griots 6” DA and it’s a workhorse. I like it. You can get one with a 25’ cord from Autogeek.

I use the Harbor Freight DA polisher, and I have an outlet in the bed, so no need for batteries :D

But you’d never use one for a complete top to bottom polish + LSP session, correct?

If only looking for something to apply last step products (wax/sealant), the Griots 3” DA with 4” pads is a great $100 solution.

It will do isolated correction work very nicely with the newer thin 3” pads. But I wouldn’t recommend it for doing entire vehicles (unless for just wax/sealant as I mentioned; it’s great for that).

You could use the Cyclo or the Rupes 21 as a complete top to bottom if you want. I used the Cyclo soley until about two years ago and had great results.

You could also use the mini, but that would be a nightmare time wise.

I have a Griot's Garage 6" Random Orbital as well, and I'll swear by it. I've also ran a couple others, but prefer the Griot's hands down.

I use my PC only with small pads now. Works great for that type of setup.

The Griots 5” vented backing plate is nice. Lake Country has a decent one too.

I have a Porter-Cable 7424XP, A Flex 3401, and a DeWalt Rotary. The Flex is my go to machine. The 7424XP is used mostly for LSP application. The DeWalt is used for really tough jobs or when I really want to hurt myself.

I would be skeptical about the power and longevity of a battery powered machine. I wouldn’t buy one.

    I have the Porter Cable.
If I do more detailing for money or get rich out of the blue soon, I will upgrade from that machine. It’s a fantastic starter machine but lacks power for tough paint correction or a lot of paint correction. I maintain 4 vehicles with mone each year.
