I have the Griot's 6 inch. Some professional detailer web sites I frequent swear by the Rupes. They do it for a living and time and results equals money so at some point I will probably switch the the Rupes although I am satisfied with the Griots. And I did have a problem with the bearing in the first Griot's I bought and they stood by their warranty, no issues.

I can see a place for a battery powered unit... Like if you’re mobile detailing and just want to use it to buff out scuffs/paint transfer, or lay down a quick coat of an AIO. Or even lightly clean up headlights. Obviously not the best solution, but might fit a niche in some mobile detailers arsenals.

I tried one. It lasted all of ten minutes before over-heating the backing plate and spitting the pad off. Luckily, I didn't damage the car I was working on. I returned it and they said they'd replace it under warranty after a factory inspection deemed it defective. I declined and bought another Flex instead.

First I've ever heard of that. I do the washer mod anyways which would protect from that while "tuning" it for more power as well. I got rid of my flex when I got this lol.

I'm a happy user of the Porter Cable 7424. Do our cars a few times a year and works perfect with lake county 5" and 6" pads. I'm no pro and have no need for severe paint correction so maybe the fancier models are better at that. I do remember the days when autogeek was full in on the 7424 but now seems they like the newer buffers.

The 7424 is a little workhorse. I started with one but after using a flex I will never go back to a PC as my main polisher. Nice not to have my arms vibrate off. Plus the flex has more power....so less time spent correcting.

Rupes Bigfoot FTW. The 15mm stroke and nano polshier by Rupes are great too! I feel like a paint polishing surgeon using this haha.

They won't get tired using Meg's Fast Finish. I cannot see myself rubbing wax on or off again. Been on my truck 4 months and looks just like the day I put it on. Says it will last up to a year but I just need it to last 6 months and I'll do it again. Don't get any easier than this.

I agree 100%. Best invention since the wheel IMHO. 6-12 months protection in 15 min. Wipe on, wipe off, no waiting to dry, no buffing, no powdery wax stuck in cracks, and doesn't stain trim/plastic. Almost too good to be true. After a few washes it still beads like new.

I wish I would of put a coat of Fast Finish on my new CR-V while it was sitting in the delivery bay the day I picked her up. Now I have to wait till looks like April before it warms up. Good stuff for sure. Honda salesman could not believe how water still beaded up on the black paint when I traded ole Black Betty in 3 weeks ago.

If you're looking to get a battery powered polisher Flex will soon have their XFE15 available. It has good power and the battery will last about 30-40 minutes of heavy use. If you're maintaining your personal cars/trucks the Griots Garage 6" DA is perfect. Life time warranty and the great thing about it you can change the backing plates from 1", 2", 3" 5" & 6".
