Great deal from Jeff at shopTRD.com. Matched the group buy CAI price (which is an outstanding price, almost dealer cost), exhaust already cheapest out there by a large margin, and gave me a combined shipping rate at his cost. Give Jeff a call if anyone's interested in buying both at once, he says he'd love to work with TW members.

Can't wait to install everything next week!

Yeah, got my bikes all modded out, needed a new project. Loving the new tires and suspension, painted grill looks much better, TRD quickshift is fun, now just need to get that intake and exhaust on and I'll be satisfied for a bit....or not :D

    (866) 455-7555 internet sales, Jeff. He's a good guy, have placed four orders there so far, everything has been accurate and promptly shipped.

How much was the CAI price? I'd like to get one of those and a shifter. Exhaust can wait.

Jeff matched the group buy CAI price of $309 since I was buying the exhaust as well, their regular price is $325, he said dealer cost is $300. I paid $297 for the TRD quickshift from them, he might be able to make you a combined deal on the CAI and quickshift kit.

That's an awesome price. How's that quickshifter feel? Is it worth the price?

    Here's the thread when I installed it...http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/31842-installed-trd-quickshift-kit.html

I'm still getting used to it, feels so much different than the stock shifter. Much reduced lever throw, they say 30% but honestly it feels like 50%. Much stiffer lever action because you don't have as much leverage (ha, leverage!), but it smoothly engages each gear with a solid "SNICK". It's actually a "two snick" action, one snick when you move from one gear to neutral, another snick when you engage the next gear. You just have to use a firm hand with it, I've read that a weighted shift knob helps eliminate the extra effort, but it's not that bad and I like the stock leather knob.

Feels more like a sports car to me, not buttery smooth and precise like a short shift Miata or S2000, but not nearly as truck like as it was with the really long lever throw.

Thanks for the info. I've had my truck for only 3 days and I want to do so much stuff to it. It's addictive!

Yeah, I'm an old sports car guy, that's how we always described a good shifting transmission.

I have to talk to my dealership about the spring tsb. I know from Toyota's point of view that it would be costly to replace this with the 09 models so I guess they are just replacing for those who complains.

I ordered my parts on 3/31, arrived three days later on 4/3. Great service from shopTRD.com, even though they're all the way in Texas I've received every order so far within three days.

Installed the CAI and exhaust this afternoon, all I can say is WOW! Great sound, exhaust is beautifully made and sounds tough, big stainless steel pipe, much smaller muffler than stock and a cool looking polished TRD tip. Super easy install, four rubber hangers and two bolts, took less than 10 minutes. The CAI install took about an hour, very detailed instructions and everything fit exactly as described. I've been very pleased with all my TRD upgrades so far, the quickshift also installed perfectly without modification.

The combined sound is awesome! Low rumble from the exhaust, turns into a mean rasp near redline. CAI howls under full throttle and adds a noticeable kick in the back, impossible not to smile when you get into it.

Good stuff, I highly recommend both. Best thing is TRD performance parts don't affect the warranty, I'll wait until it expires before I get radical with headers and such.
