if you are looking for someone to do wiring .. I highly recommend JAZ at Car Stereo City in Aloha.
he is very attention to detail and does a great job on any wiring.

Whaaa? How is that supposed to help anything? If you are worried about that, it could also slip sideways and bash on your open door, which is more likely.

The correct way to set your Hi lift is to have the foot inwards so that the beam is canted backwards away from the vehicle. As the vehicle raises, the beam will go perpendicular with the ground.
To be a stickler, you are supposed to always have the jack manned, but circumstance doesn't always lend itself to doing that.

I was trying to find a good youtube vid, but there's a lot of really bad advice out there, enough that I'd be tempted to make a video myself!

Still haven't checked TSF out and I live right there in Beaverton! I don't know much about off-roading but really want to get into it. Any recommendations? Mind if I join sometime?

Mike, do you remember back to back? It's over by little rubicon. Back to back is the steepest one i believe in TSF? I wonder if the one you found is steeper? Diamond mill has some knarly single track I think I need to take you on lol.

Ugh, I'm still a pavement weenie. I haven't hit anything resembling dirt since mid last year and I have little skill.

Yup, I just wish he had posted a longer video. I have the full thing on DVD but I still don't remember him filming everything he mentions now in classes.

If you are free for the annual meet, you should ride along with one of us :). If I get out there anytime before (beyond scouting for camp spots) I will try posting up an announcement

Agreed on all of that, I was willing to leave it for just a second to get the picture, not to mention it was really only a 1/4" off the jackstand at that moment. After years of using Hi Lift jacks for a little of everything while building docks I have a healthy respect for how useful and versatile they can be and how easily they will bite you if you aren't on your toes.

Please do! I would love to ride out there. Not sure how many of the trails my truck can go on (still no sliders or skid plates) but would still love to tag along. When is the annual meet?

As far as I can tell looks like that 2nd weekend in June right? Wasn't sure if that was some private thing or the annual meet? Either way looks like I'll be missing it this year :-/ I'll be at work that week

It's open to forum members, it's just that this year we got in trouble for being too helpful and things are being monitored (at least this year) by the forest service. We are required to keep it to 10 vehicles but can have a separate party. Camping is a bit more relaxed on numbers as long as we aren't overpopulating the camp rules.

Got in trouble for being too helpful? Lol so confusing!
I'll be working unfortunately :-/ but hope all of you have a blast! If you end up going some other time would love to just ride along if you don't mind. More or less see what it's all about.

    Are floor mats a mod?
Does everyone use a slider bar cup adapter? Let's the bar rotate, so jack angle doesn't matter quite as much as long as the base is on something fairly solid...

    I don't have one.

A quad would work until you got to that stump and had to do 90Âş+ over it

Anyone in the market for factory suspension off a 2015 Off Road? I just made the switch to OME, and have the factory stuff just laying in my garage. PM and we can talk pricing (keyword: cheap). Taken off the truck at 8k miles. Front springs/shocks are still assembled for easier installation...
