My roommate in Hawaii had an 07. This happened the first time we took it off road. 500 feet down a muddy road and one pot hole.

I need to know how to drive one first. Class is going to cost me a few hundred, and once I know what I'm doing there's a helmet, boots, coat/whatever, pants, gloves... and yeah, a motorcycle might be nice as well. I'm excited to get started, however I know that once i'm competent enough to ride, I'm going to be spending like mad - part of me wants to hold that off, lol.

plus I heard KTM's aren't really great for the first timer when it comes to maintenance, heh.

My plan is to have it mainly offroad, but able to go to work and such (6 miles, back roads). A nice used bike that can take some beatings while I learn :)

I road a dual sport for a while and it sucks man. Its weak on roads and weak on the street. (hence dual sport) I'd get a dedicated bike for either one.

I think the LR's are going to be on my truck for a quite a while... I can't justify a long travel setup.

you'd have to ditch a bunch of weight if you were gonna change to LT.
