Yea, its supposed to clean out the system. Earlier in the year I ran some through the vacuum lines, motor oil, and fuel system and the truck idled a whole lot lower rpm for awhile and ran a bit smoother. It pours white smoke like a frigging mofo at first. I think the entire neighborhood put me on their shit list for life.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Mine beeps either in 4HI or 4LO. I believe it has to do with either the VSC, or the Auto LSD working overtime. It is a very rapid beeping sound when one the rear wheels is slipping or spinning faster than the other.

I'll have to read and try to dig up a mod for it. I have already disabled the alarm fob beep and seatbelt chime...don't know why I have done this yet.

Fuckin annoying. I'm stock in the rear right now. 2 weeks ago it was in the dealership for 80,000 mile service. Anyone elses shit squeak?

Got my tires mounted today...another surprisingly awesome experience with a corporate company :)

Out the door @ Costco for $60.87. 4 tires mounted and balanced filled to 35 psi with Nitrogen. I got to hang out while they were working on it and like usual, just got to bullshitting with the guys. All of them loved the Taco, made one guy regret selling his '88 yota (fully framed/tubed w/ 44" IROKs). He showed me some pics of it playing at Tahuya, and told me to check out the new boulder garden up there (maybe ).

Really happy with the tires! They are considerably more quiet than I expected, and track well on their own. Will need to get an alignment soon, but everything is pretty straight and true. Now I just need to get them dirty and see how they perform...:mudding:

No rubbing while street driving, but I will definitely have to do some trimming up front, like that damn bowl (?) on the bottom front-side of the front wheel wells. I hate that thing, why is it even there??? Didn't get to test them off road, so excuse the typical warehouse pics, but it's right near my house and keeps the continuity of my progress pics.

Looks really good. Did you buy them from Costco? When I was trying to get my tires mounted Costco told me they wouldn't do them unless I bought the tires from them. Supposedly some corporate shit

Ben has all the VSC type stuff that beeps when it senses wheel slippage. Really annoying when your whole idea is to get the wheels slipping in sand, or if you don't care (offroading).

Lots of different wire mods, here's this one on ABS disable, I suggest read the first post then skip all the way up to post 70 and read from there. I didn't read to see if the theory regarding the locker-equipped trucks had a solution, but I don't have a whole lot of problems with the ABS.

Here's the yellow wire, which is giving you ATRAC-like capability in 4LO for trucks that only have TRAC.

    A few tips:

-portable units don't work nearly as good as window units. I've got a 12k BTU portable unit that can't keep up with my old window unit that was something like 900 BTU. This might be different now (I bought 3 years ago)
-Make sure you know how many BTUs you need for your room. If you get a portable, over-estimate by a ton.
-getting the biggest possible unit is not always best, it can cause it to cycle too much. Same deal for too small, too small never shuts off.
-keep in mind that A/Cs take up a ton of power. You might be tripping breakers a ton, don't be surprised if your place can't handle it.
-on portable units, get one that has two hoses, an inlet and an outlet. More efficient and doesn't create as much condensation to empty.
-Keep a lookout on the energy efficiency. Some of the cheap units can cost a butt ton to run and end up costing you more in the long run.
    -Having a remote kicks butt.
-If you can get it where it has a timer for stuff like shutting off after a few hours, turning on at certain times, etc., that's good stuff. Helps when going to bed and nice to have it on a few minutes before you get home.
-The very best feature is units that have self-adjusting speeds. When the room lowers to a certain temperature, the unit will either drop the fan speed, or (if it's a really good unit), stop blowing. Make sure this feature works with the A/C portion on!!! My stupid unit only does this with the dehumidifier portion  which is a useless setting.

My friends and I have bought our last 4 units at Sears and have had good luck. The Kenmores seem to be really good. My current unit is the Soleus 12k. It works, but it was about the only real good unit on the market at that time. I expect there's better units now. The portability sure is nice, I usually have it in a bedroom or computer room, but wheel it to the front room during a get-together. Note that it's still a heavy pig and not something girlfriends are going to want to push - they will make you do it.
I've never had to drain my unit, it evaporates too fast.

    Oh, and nice job Ben!

Do they do alignments at Costco? Need to see the price... I've been hearing Schwab is starting to be kinda crap since the Old Man died :(

Thanks Adam! Looks extra good cuz I got 'er all purdy today, and gave her bath :D

Nope, got 'em from a private seller. Read about it HERE if you're interested, it's a good story of wits and luck. I think they have to ring it out as a "Seasonal Tire Swap" to adhere to their corporate policies. That's what the guy eluded to anyways. It wasn't a problem that I didn't buy them there.

Costco was the 3rd place I called to get quotes (actually at my girlfriend's suggestion) and by far the coolest, cheapest, and least arrogant. They also laid to rest the myths regarding mixing Nitrogen and Oxygen in your tires.

Discount = $180 + and wouldn't touch them if I had wheel spacers
    Les Schwab = $90-$120

I don't have a build thread (yet), which is actually good for me and you guys, cuz that shit would take me like a month to complete, and the reader a week to decipher my run-on sentence rants...:p

Here's the gist of it: OME 885 Coils w/ 90k Nitro Shocks up front, OME N182 Shocks and Dakar Leafpack in back, Light Racing UCAs, 1/2" Toytec Front Spacers, 1" Low-Range Off-Road rear blocks, swaybar relocate, (4) 1" BORA Wheel Spacers, 285/70R17 Goodyear MT/R (old style)

Thanks Mike! I didn't check to see if they do alignments :facepalm:but that is in the very distant future for me as well. I will definitely be going there again if they do. Jason, Marty and Brian were all really helpful and knowledgeable.

I think I ended up calling 15 shops to get quotes for my tires. Ended up finding a place that on their website said they had a deal to put on snow tires. 40 bucks out the door. I showed up. They put them on. Asked if they were snow tires because "those sure don't look like snow tires". I pointed to the snow flake and smiled. Gotta love those Duratracs snow/mud :D:D:D:D:D

I might look into that, it's usually between $150-$180 for the lifetime, but some have gotten it for as little as $120. I will have to check out the local Firestone to get pricing and see how legit they are.

I just like the lifetime because if you get at least 3 alignments over the course of you owning that vehicle, it pays for itself. I get alignments every few months, so it more than paid for itself already. :)
