I’ve had 5 white trucks with no issues. Big 3? My last Denali HD was Summit white and it held up better than my current orange peel green. I think the “Toyota makes their paint a little more resilient” spiel is a shtick. Sorry you had problems but in the wet PNW white is a sought after color to soak up road grime between washes which are hard to do between rains

No worries, it is what is. Some people have issues and others don’t.

I too specifically wanted white and spent about 6 months looking before I got mine.

Truck gets washed regularly and gets paste waxed each spring and fall. My garage is too small for the second gen though so it lives outside 24/7, 365. I’m sure that isn’t helping.

I literally walked away from a brand new black ‘23 because of the orange peel paint. Dealer told me Toyota put really tough paint on their rigs and this was due to that. I said it just looks like orange peel to me. Now I’ve had a couple chips. Just shy of 40k. Bout to go to dealership for a service on Saturday. I got a paint pen from them last go around and touched up 3 spots on my bumper. On top of that my windshield is got small chips and inclusions on it. My instrument cluster clear plastic is got scratches all over it by just plain cleaning it with a terry cloth. I absolutely love my truck and think it’s the best small truck out there but to say their paint and surface quality is a notch above is misdirection at best. Just sayin. Back to the regular programming.

FYI, pretty cheap and easy to replace.

I'd add this while the new lens is out of the truck.

Looks like it's sitting at Rodland Toyota in Everett. Pretty sure I've seen it there before.
