I put the 4runner brakes on mine. It’s worth knowing that the pedal response was SIGNIFICANTLY altered by this. The pedal doesn’t engage as quickly, and it’s a lot spongier. From the research I did, I think it’s because the 4R calipers hold more fluid, and the Tacoma system doesn’t push the extra fluid fast enough. One guy on here put a brake booster off a first gen tundra on his and it sounds like it gave him much better pedal feel. I upgraded to steel brake lines up front, replaced my rear brakes, bled the entire system once myself, had it done at a shop, then bled them again, because they still felt so spongy. I think it’s just how mine are now.

I also live in Kent, and we could probably work out a meet if you want to drive mine around a parking lot and try them out first.

 

Thanks for that offer. Just seems like the better thing to do might be to shell out the funds for the full on BBK... spongier brakes don't sound great.

The more I read today, the more I see that is common.... darn it.

I have a set of five tundra rims that look good painted black. These are stock and i can get you pics if you want. $250 for all 5. They're buried in the garage, but i can get you pics if you need them. Theyre in pretty good or very good shape.

 

I would HIGHLY recommend getting calipers and disks for a 2010 GX460. Those calipers listed for the 4runner and 470 have a tendency to stick and warp your rotors. Most of the 470 guys look at doing the upgrade to the later models. i just did it and it was pretty seamless.

 

Okay, who sold their rig? Looks like a sweet setup! Comes with free body damage though..

These are my favorite toyota wheels. They look great on everything. Back when I had my GX I would've jumped on that deal.

 

I have some OEM Sport wheels that would look awesome on your truck or even in your garage

 

I may be interested in those but couldn’t come take a look til this weekend

 

Theyre buried in the garage and have been for like 2 years man. Take your time, but ill be home all weekend.

40lbs of weldable mild steel, various scrap bits of tube and plate, mostly 1/16-1/8th thick and 1" to 8" long. Some paint and a bit of surface rust, but still good for misc projects or welding practice.

I can divide up the steel if people want to share. Will have some longer pieces (4-6') of tubing/plate in a couple weeks once I realize how overweight I'm making the moving container, might try to get a little money for those pieces though.
