I need to pick something up to cover them they are super nasty looking currently. I had wondered about a set of shock sox for dirt bikes to keep seals protected a little better and then a cover over that to keep the shafts clean.

Good idea... Here is another question, if the seal goes... Your pritty much riding on a bottomed out strut correct? Since there is no "spring" to hold it up... In turn causing more damage if in the middle of no wear

Well if your tires don't rub at full stuff then no big. Just limp it home. If they rub really bad you have problems. I have my old 5100's in my toolbox (basically because I have no where else to put them) that I could swap in. If you want to get crafy you could make a 2x4 or piece of steel that can bolt in place of the strut for cheap and limp home on that.

This^ if your wheel wells are property Clarenced it should be a problem. And again i dont see a total seal failure unless to go some serious damage and you would have bigger problems if that happened. Like looking for your front tire

I drive mine in -20 degrees in Idaho occasionally, and I spend part of the winter in Utah with all the salt on the roads. They handle the temperature fine, a little loss in ride height. I like to keep the salt off the piston shafts because it will eventually eat the chrome. I know a guy in Florida that got some type of salt solution on his struts and let them sit for a season. It pitted the chrome finish. The struts do have a rod wiper seal that keeps the road grime off the main rod seal. I would occasionally inspect that black wiper seal to make sure it's in good shape, then, so long as your piston shaft isn't pitted from salt, your main rod seal should hold up just fine.

tony, just grab an icon sock to cover the ORI.... Id make the bottom tight with the top loose so when you flex the shaft is still covered and the top slides versus the shaft becoming exposed

doesnt matter what brand of shock you have here in alberta the shafts all seem to pit within a couple years...

Jerry is already selling them for as low are ORI will let him so unless ORI decides to have a sell then Jerry can't sell them any lower without losing his vendor status with ORI.

i think jerry's set-up will be 100% different than you'd expect for a normal vehicle try and get in touch with the guy from Alaska, kind of the same weather patterns we experience and roads

I think he got the bouncy from me. haha. Mine are bouncy, but I think it is because I have no rear shocks and they are not tuned, they just have random amounts of air in them at the moment. I'm waiting on my resi's and fill kit before I go rent an N2 tank.

Yeah my set up is a little different then you would see. But I like how they ride they soak up the bumps well and the truck is super stable. Sure it's a little stiff sometimes with how I have them set but being linked front and rear and no sway bars they handle like a dream.
