WARNING - TRAIL RUN IN THE MAKING!
I'm wanting to do the OTAY TRUCK TRAIL off Otay Lakes Rd in Chula Vista headed towards Jamul on Monday. In the past, I've headed South at the fork which drops me off in Otay Mesa near Alta Rd. This time around I'm planning to head East on the fork. Call it "exploration." For those who have not been on the trail, it's a simple fire road in the mountains that the Border Patrol uses. There are some good little off shoots to roll around in and such. Nothing crazy. Anyone interested? Let me know. I'm hoping to hit the trail by 10AM. Should be done by 2PM.

Hey Albert, I'll hit this trail up with you next time bro... I've never done that trail before, but it sounds perfect for my PreRunner and it is real close to my house in Chula Vista.

Sweet! If you can, take some pics and let us know how it is... (Sadly, I work during the week and can only wheel on weekends.)

I just read the description http://www.dirtopia.com/wiki/Otay_Mountain_Truck_Trail and that sounds like the type of stuff that my wife and daughter would enjoy going on. (The screaming would be kept to a minimum :D)

The fire road was a bit bouncy, but other than that it was smooth sailing. We stuck to the main road which led us to a firing range near the 94. Overall a good run with some more exploration to do.

Sorry I missed out on this Albert, but I had to work today. I'm off on Wednesday, if you're free, and want head out there again. I need to test out my new (to me) suspension.

No problem Rand. It was bouncy up there. Loose gravel for sure. Would have been fun. Truck looks great man.
