Oh and I stuck a digital thermoter probe in one of the vents today. It hangs out in the low 40's but got as low as 35 degrees F! Not bad. It's kinda cool out though..in the mid 60's.

I was able to get everything I needed on Amazon except the high pressure switch. I got that from Autozone. I think the total cost wast $531 including $10 to have the refrigerant evacuated and $136 to have it vacuumed and rechared. You could easily rent the vacuum pump and guages and do it your self for a lot less though. You'd still need to have a shop remove the old refrigerant.

I was okay with no AC for awhile until I was sitting in traffic in Novato, CA on a Friday afternoon and it was 108 degrees.

    Thanks!

I was just researching dry disconnects for it. I've had a few times where I've had to siphon fuel for another vehicle. I'd love to have a valve with a dry discconect. Turn the valve and plug in a hose and just pump fuel to the other vehicle.

I was up around Nacimiento Ferguson Road near Big Sur a few weeks ago and was talking to some Czech tourists who rented Harleys and were riding around CA. One of them was so low on gas he might not make it to a gas station. We siphoned a few gallons out of my Aux tank so he wouldn't have to worry about fuel. The problem was that while I have a siphon hose with the ball jiggler thing I didn't have a container to siphon it into. There was no way to park the truck high enough to just siphon straight into the bike so we siphoned into a zip lock bag. A hose would be so much better.

I was thinking the same thing, that and a switch that would automatically turn off the pump when it filled the other tank full. Twice I have forgot that I had it running and had some spillage:anonymous:.

Running the white rim trail we ran into a guy who was lost or misunderstood how long it was, so my buddy gave him the gas out of his Jerry can. I ended up disconnecting the little hose from the filler neck and added a small length of hose to it, flipped the switch and I was a mobile gas station lol. Would be nice just to have a valve like your saying so you could easily fill somebody else up when in need.

I thought your usename looked familiar. I referanced your Suburban tank thread a bunch while building mine.

I overfilled my stock tank to the point that my check engine light came on. I forgot the code number but it said my charcoal cannister was done. I ignored it for about 6 months and it went away.
The only other issue I've had is the roll over valve on the F150 tank leaks so it caused a slow evap leak code CEL. For smog I had to clamp the hoses going to the tank.

I'll need to put a skid plate on it someday. I've manager to put a pretty good dent in one of the corners.

Mine would cough and sputter a little bit for about 10 min after I overfilled, but other than that it was ok. Glad the f150 works well, if I ever do another one that's what I'm going to choose. 40 gal is cool, but not needed.

Taquito got a new rear tire today. I got the same tire as the last one. Shinko 705 Size 150 70R 17. It's an 80/20 street/dirt tire. I got 10,000 miles out of the last tire. Not too bad for a $100 tire.

Hopefully by the time I'll need another tire I'll need a new front tire and I'll have gotten a more dirt capable bike. I'm thinking Suzuki DR650. They're air cooled and a pretty much unchanged design since the early 90's. They're simple and super reliable. I will name it Taquito JR.

I want it. Is it that relatively cheap one with no poles?

I set it up last weekend with just the verticle poles...no horzontal poles and it worked great. The horizontal poles are 8 feet long. I might leave those at home.
