Outer Banks

I saw 4 brand new Cherokees lined up yesterday up there lol. But yes, they seem to be more plentiful than the jeeps. I do believe that the jeep guys travel from all around for the get together. A lot of the local Tacoma owners seem to be older or use them for work trucks. There are a few however that are built for playing.

 

I think the true trick to get more Tacomas to do a meet down there is to get more people in this thread. I agree the everyday Tacoma owner doesn't car about meeting up to talk about trucks and such

 

I think it's safe to say that most people now just buy a car/truck just to say they have it. They don't particularly care about using it, talking about it, or modifying it which is why car shows in general are so few and far between anymore

 

People get their arms twisted though, all I wanted was a roof rack when I got the truck.. now I have a plan to make the truck into a camping/fishing tool. I'm gunna see what I can come up with and maybe post something later this year about possibly making the meet up in Hatteras actually happen. Too many good people with nice trucks on here that enjoy the beach and camping to not make it happen. The weather in May is beautiful down there and perfect for camping.

 

I just saw a new 3rd gen taco drive down my street, had new temp tags and a pretty nice steel bumper with headlight hoops and a winch. Was followed by a bright orange wrangler

First visit to Ocracoke was fun yesterday.


I think we’ll go back to ramp 44 today for our last day. Leaving tomorrow

All the way to jersey. We probably drove past each other, I went straight through Virginia Beach

 

I've been set up in Corova since 10am so depending on where you were about 45 minutes before then it's hard to say

 

I got on the road in Corolla at about 830 and went South to go north from there, so we probably did pass each other at some point, just maybe not in eye shot

 

Just a little pompano. Didn’t have much luck but I wasn’t trying real hard.

 

The table is awesome. And yes, luckily we picked an excellent week to go. It’s risky to plan a trip there in September but we always get lucky going the first week.

 

It’s funny I put that sticker on, I looked like a clown going out ramp 44 and almost getting buried. I made it out to the point and almost got stuck again when I realized my front tires were pushing sand, and then I realized... I forgot to press my ADD switch to engage the front diff . I made it to the point in 2wd!!!

FYI I have an FJ Cruiser tcase and separate switch for the ADD.

 

If you saw someone checking out your truck from ailver 3rd gen yesterday around 9:40 next to the Dairy Queen in Avon, that was me. I was heading back that way with my girlfriend to clean houses and saw you heading south, when we saw the tenants weren't gone yet we headed to 38 and saw you again going north.. Very nice truck you have there, my girlfriend was even a tad jealous.

 

Lol thanks! I was heading to drop the rental keys off and then stopped at Wings for my fiancé to shop before leaving north.
