    Hooked up on a couple skates myself. Birds were diving like crazy in front of us but my lines just not far out enough I guess. Saw some spearfishermen bring in some black drum and talked to a few guys saying the cobia were hitting. I'll try again on july 4th weekend. Going to SML (smith mountain lake) for a week mid june so maybe have better luck in freshwater!

    Yea, red and black drum are still in the surf here in VA. I caught a juvenile grey trout in the surf down there last year along with some swelling toad (good eating!)

    Stock.
    Rented a house in Duck for a week in October of 2014. We rented a jeep for a day to go up there and ride the dunes and see the wild horses. Other than fishing or flying a kite, there really wasn't much to do there. The only benefit I could see staying there is it would be a little less busy as it keeps some tourists off the beach who don't have 4 wheel drive.

    Drive on the beach in Corova, relax, surf fish, swim, drink beer and just let loose. So nice to not have to lug beach stuff across the beach. Unload from back of truck and enjoy

    I seen 4 Crossovers, 2 trucks with two wheel drive and 3 cars stuck on the way out. I helped the one person who had a shovel that happened to break on him. The rest were just idiots. Tow truck had one already hooked and ready to pull as we passed them

    Yeah, I go down to fish, so I try to stay away from the crowded parts as much as I can. Now I don't mind cruising the beach and looking at the scenery up in the crowded areas, but that's about it.
