I bought 50 and 60 lb leader material and the 60 is tough as hell to tie it’s so stiff. It doesn’t want to stack neatly without having to pull like hell on the line. Ever had many problems with the 40 breaking on a cast? (I know very little about this type of fishing as well)

I’m at 20.5 been fishing ramp 4 this week so far catching all the short puppy drum you want. 16” seems to be the sweet spot. Blues and small pomps in the mix. Looking to head down to the point later in the week.

Sadly no, the camera angle added a couple inches. He was 16 tops, back he went. I was holding fine with 5oz.

I normally jog off the piers for Spanish and Taylor’s . Usually stay on Avalon but I guess I’ll have to change that idea as I understand it got hit pretty hard. Anybody want to meet up for beers this week post it up

What are you throwing, if you don't mind me asking? Fishfinder and cut bait?

I’m hopeless with a cast net, but they are thick out there.

One year at the OBX, I wandered up and down the beach with a little cast net, catching bait for people in exchange for a beer.

They love those juicy female fleas smuggling all those eggs. I don’t know why I love catching pomp’s. But I do.

I love pomps too. I haven’t seen one worth keeping yet this week.

Didn’t get a chance, but I saw one of our local bait catchers got probably 100-150lbs in one throw. And I’d be willing to bet that was where he was. I’m off today so maybe if I don’t get blown away I can get some finally.
