    Interesting that it's mentioned that $50 was too cheap. That's the price of a 7 day ORV pass to the National Seashore on the Cape.

    I think this is a good idea. It would keep those folks who shouldn't be out there from being curious and trying to drive on the beach. If you gotta pay, most of the casual vacationers will turn away.

    As a local, it’ll probably turn me away honestly. I only go up there a few days in a month and a half period later in the year. Unless they make it to where you can pick and choose which 10days you would like to utilize the pass (within a predetermined timeframe), which is unlikely to happen, I doubt I’ll be going up there anymore. Oh well.

    No, I have a permit for down south and nags head/kdh beaches, but I also frequent those beaches more often. I only head to Corova for the fall drum after they start catching them from sandbridge.

    Gotcha, my local pass here is 90 but that gets me MD and VA access to Assateague for a year. Hatteras just has so much more beach to drive on.

    Not that I’ve heard of. I feel like it would be a good place for one though. There’s a local guy that puts on a jeep week every year. There’s plenty of tacos down here, some nice ones even, so I’m sure a meet up could be a possibility.

    it’s a nice area, pretty quiet too. I was born here though, so I don’t see the attraction a lot of others see. But it definitely can be relaxing. And you’re talking about the blue one that sits about 8’ off the ground and probably hasn’t ran in years lol.
