Does anyone here have a 2nd Gen that's got over 250,000 Miles? If so any major issues or just normal wear and tear items? Looking into getting one with about 180,000 and trying to see how long this thing will go. The truck has been properly maintained.

I have a 2005 double cab V6 4.0, I change my oil every 5000 miles and do all the maintenance required I kind of baby my truck and I wouldn’t second-guess myself if I have to drive across the United States with this truck no issues at all so far I’ve had the truck since 203,000 and now I am at 227,000

Granted they replace the frame three years ago and the leaf springs due to a recall

Thanks for the reply, its still the same powertrain so that's the important thing. You know if the previous owner had any major issues?

Give me a few more years. I'm at 216,000 on my 07 that I bought new. Other than normal stuff like brakes, battery, tires, fluids and belts the only parts that didn't come with it from the factory is the alternator that died at about 190,000 miles. There wasn't anything wrong with them, but Toyota did replace rear leaf springs at just under 200,000 as part of the recall.

I've done 10,000 mile oil changes with Mobile 1 since new. Never added a drop of oil between oil changes. I have some paint peeling on the hood. The seats and carpet are a bit dirty and worn, but it still drives like new.

My brother has an 07 with at least 250k on it (4.0 automatic DCLB)). He’s in California but truck spent a few years in DC area. He bought it with 90k on it about 10 ago. All original drivetrain and frame. The thing won’t quit

I bought a 2008 Tacoma last year from the original owner. He said all the service was done at the dealership and I have a stack of service records and the owners manual. The truck has 413,000 miles on it and rides and drives like a new truck. I have done a complete detail including the engine bay. It looks like a new truck.

i bought my 07 at 216k. the original owner bought it, had it a few months and then traded it in. the next owner had it from 07-19. oil changes every 5k all maintenance done at the dealer, and a huge list of things done with the frame replacement. she burns oil. about a quart every tank(300-350 miles). low compression on every cylinder(125-140psi).still gets 21-22 mpg highway if i baby her, shes definitely sluggish though.

Auto or manual transmission? That’s a lot of miles and a clean truck

Bought a 2011 4x4 with 180k two years ago and hit 230k this month. Took me to Denver all the way to Houston this June with no problems

If you keep it till a million miles Toyota is known to give their owners a new Tacoma.

I bought a 2015 4x4 AC manual new. Now I have 270k on original trans and motor. Only replaced the alternator so far. I was planning on selling it before 200k but it keeps running great.
