Overhead compass not working

I recently bought an 08 Tacoma dbl cab. I noticed the overhead digital compass does not work. The display is not on. Looking for a solution if anyone has experienced this issue. Thanks

It is a common problem with an easy fix. Mine went out. Normally you can just solder a resistor back in place. But during the process of taking mine apart the TINY resistor fell out and I couldn't find it. Bought a barrel resistor locally for $1 and soldered in in place.

There are some places online that will repair it for you if you ship it to them, cost is around $50 IIRC. Take it back to Toyota and they will replace the entire unit. IIRC they want about $400.

I took mine to the local truck stop that repaired CB Radios.
He applied a little more solder to some other stuff since it was already apart.
They guy didn’t even want to charge me to resolder it.
I handed him $10 and we both were happy.
