Thanks again for your help on making this a simple fix! Although now I have reinstalled the components and my compass is working (only now giving me untrue readings) , although it is almost giving me an opposite reading, any ideas/
    Thank you soo much

Thank you for writing this! Mine went out before I was a member on TW. I was really bummed when it did and even more bummed when Toyota told me $300 or something crazy for a new one. When I joined this site, I accidentally stumbled onto this thread and subscribed to it immediately. When I did my dash LEDs (the 1st time) I did this too. It worked when I tested it, then stopped working when I got everything put back together. Recently, when I did my dash LEDs for the 2nd time, I took the compass out and did it again with enough solder to rise it off the board a little bit. Thanks for saving me a bunch of green on something stupid.

2009 Tacoma SR5 Too many to list, but its a SR5 with a TRD Sport Heart
Hey Guys, time to throw a new spin into the mix.

I have a 2009 SR5 and I have recently been upgrading my SR5 parts to TRD parts, and one of the upgrades was the outside temp and nav upgrade. I connected everything in the console and the nav works great, but on the outside temp I only get the --- lines. Is there another sensor I need to get or is there something wrong with the board? I have yet to pull it out and look to see if the 510 needs to be re-soldered (thats the plan for tonight)

The console is from an 06 TRD, so its in that time frame for a solder to go, but just wondering if there is something more I should be looking for?

    Thanks

I will have to look when I get home. But most likely I do (as the SR5 is pretty much pre-wired for anything TRD)

Whereabouts should I be looking and is it easy to identify?

The way the temperature is sent to the display changed in 09. Your 06 module will not work in your 09 truck. (In 09 they switched to sending the temp signal on the AC control bus.)

    You need an 09-10 module.
