    my overhead compass stoped working.it was the 510 chip...but when i push it back into place it burns my fingers:confused: does any one know why??

    Just a bunch of old crap
    Semiconductors can heat up easily, and that's what softens the inferior factory solder and makes them come loose. A little extra solder on both sides of each chip does the trick. I had the same problem in mine and a little extra soldering worked like a charm. There's a few threads here with a good description of the fix if you have questions, but it sounds like you already found the issue.
