Had the O/H console off on my 09 - per instructions on the forum it came off easy - one screw plus a couple of clips toward the front. Now however the front clips don't snap in or engage. I don't see anything visibly broken off on the plastic tabs. Anyone else encountered this or have a recommended fix?
Two plastic male tabs on the console engage two rectangular slots in sheet metal. Thanx!

You need the metal clips that were on the tabs!

Look carefully at my picture. They are grey metal clips that fit over the plastic tabs. They provide the resistance necessary to hold the assembly up. Mine popped off when I took the assembly out, but I found them. Hopefully you can find yours.

Thank you so much - that's what I'm missing. I'll look for them or go see the parts guy if I can't find them.

^^^what Crom said. Just run your finger above the sheet metal where the mounting holes are....that's where mine usually fall when I take out the console

If you can't find them and need new ones, Toyota doesn't make them out of metal anymore. You can only get the plastic replacements. Toyota part number: 90467-10203. They are the same clips that hold that stereo surround in the dash.

Sorry, but I have to correct you on this one. I just picked up the metal clips from my dealership today (they even had them in stock). Part number 90084-46017. $1.71 each.
