You're definitely not the only one waiting. Last report we saw was a timer of sorts was found, but mention after that.

Awesome thread! Thanks to everyone who’s provided so much feedback.

I’m very interested in trying the OTT tune but had a few questions I was hoping someone can help me out with.

Are there any long term effects on your engine/powertrain with a tune like this? I guess I’m mostly concerned about possibly voiding the warranty. Anybody have any issues related to this?

Personally I’ve driven a lot of other tunes, and have done a lot of datalogging and I feel like the Overland Torque Tune is the best as far as what I look for in the numbers/reliability. There are a lot of parameters to look at when doing this.

The other thing is purely based on personal feel. Out of the 6-7 that I had ran on my truck, the OTT just felt more natural, had the least amount of effort due to the low end torque which is what our trucks needed so badly and OTT had the key to unlock this!

Thank you for taking the time to read up on our offerings! We very much appreciate the continued support and feedback we’ve received. While we are a data driven organization, we still very much use our qualitative feedback to help shape our product.

Tying that back into your question; the short answer is our tune will not decrease the longevity/reliability of your vehicle. We’ve specifically engineered our calibration to work within the factory parameters. We do not disable any functionality of the Toyota feedback systems. This retains the full range of adaptive learning Toyota has invested in to make this brand known for reliable service across the globe.

While I’d love to say our tune will not void your warranty, any modification to the power train could result in that system being excluded from warranty coverage. We’re confident (given our history and testing regime) that you would not have to lean on your warranty due to our tune. Should something with your power train require warranty service, it would have happened with the OE calibration or any other and would manifest itself as being a valid warranty claim.

We’ve put service life at the top of our list of requirements to ensure you get the greatest service life out of your vehicle. We will not sacrifice reliability/longevity for a few extra horsepower. Thankfully we’ve been able to create an extremely competitive tune that still retains the Toyota quality you likely bought your vehicle for.

Hope that helps! Let us know if we can further assist or answer any other questions.

Does that also mean that both engine cycles (Atkinson & Otto) are kept with this tune?

    TIA

Both are retained, but the conditions and ‘timing’ have been reconfigured to meet performance and economy objectives.

On the KDMAX Pro one of these was disabled correct? The engine sounds very different now that I have the OTT. In fact right after getting the OTT tune completed as we were standing there talking I heard a sound I had never heard before from the engine. It did lead to a discussion but I never asked why I hadn't heard it before.

At idle we use the OE cam angles. No changes from the factory Toyota cal.

I can’t speak for KD on their angles. But there’s no need to change the idle angles if you desire a smooth idle. However a change in cam timing would (to some degree) change the sound of the engine so it’s possible that’s what you experienced.

if it was a loud clicking sound, that's the injector cleaning cycle. it will normally happen at idle after a few mins or so.

I got a 2022 6sp manual Sport and had the OTT tune for a week now and Its awesome! Total game changer! Got the throttle at +1. Tried the +3 Holy cow it was too much for me! Had the OTT tune on my 2019 automatic Shifted smoother than the kdmaxx and helped with the damn ghost shifting. I recommend it to anyone an everyone! MPG stayed the same. but the truck drives like its suppose to! Thanks PNWTuningllc.com Hit up your local tuner!

Just an update on tune I almost got 145 miles on a quarter tank and over 210 miles on a half tank . Today I'll give what 3/4 of a tank for mileage will be .loving the tune definitely keeps me happy everyday . Another note warm ups are spot on too. This tune and valley runner so far have the best warm up times .
