You need to think out of the box (or hood in this case).

Would it be easier to work with top mounted turbos for DIY install vs initial bottom?

Matt ( @OVTune ) wasn't trying to decide what would be better. The V35A turbos are hard to source and very expensive.

I can't speak for Matt or his customers but I'm fairly confident that if Matt sells a top mount kit with the V35A turbos, it's going to be in the 5 figure range.

I was only stating how epic a top mounted setup would be. I've been in this thread forever so I know it's not a top priority bud

the issue with top mount turbos is heat. I’m just about ready for a single turbo upgrade on my 09 bmw 335i and all the peeps with top mount setups need to wrap everything in gold foil to assist with heat. Bottom mount turbos help take away heat from the engine bay AND assist with lowering the center of gravity.

Most people I've see.use heat wrap from CEI I think, I've used the 2k temp stuff for my diesel build, far as center of gravity, ive yet to hear that mentioned in a build, not saying it doesn't come to play but for a daily driven car it's not really going to change anything. Though if you add heat wrap doing a turbo cool down phase isnt a bad idea at least if you ran the engine hard and have a heat soaked hot side.

center of gravity? Turbos don’t weigh THAT much

maybe I’ll take my seats out and sit on the floor. Or lose 50lbs

They do if you get to the BIG turbos but if you're running that huge, then you'll be worried about more important things lol

It looks like all he said was making changes to 5th and 6th gear, but didn't hear anything about the low end which is a problem as well. Even then, they are 3-4 years late :help::(
