@OVTune Do you have any plans for legal options for California? I plan to just uninstall and go back to stock before smog.. i dont see any other way as it stands.

The system as a whole would need an exemption. If you ever go to a smog ref they'll look up each exemption and confirm its for the right stuff and the exemption is for the vehicle (or engine if it was swapped) they are looking at. It's not out of the question to get the exemption. It just has to get tested at a special facility. The testing will show that the emissions didn't get worse than before the product was added.

I had to replace the cats on my 04 last year and after Toyota quoted me over $3k for the job, I ended up buying CARB approved Magnaflows for $600 installed. Passed smog a few months later with flying colors.

OEM cats are no doubt the best quality but they are expensive as hell...I think I've heard too that there are no CARB compliant options for 2nd/3rd gens, or very few if any...luckily 1st gens have several options.

On a related note...if you're boosted and running lean you will kill your cats right quick, ask me how I know

Hopefully the AT should be alright, MT guys should set some money aside and plan for a higher pressure/stronger clutch.

It will take it until it doesn't, plan ahead. If you shift it in peak power all the time its going to wear it out faster. URD sells clutches that should be up to the task.

I'm sure it's been done before, hell there's people that have used baby oil as engine oil before

Pfft, too inert and not cold enough, you need liquid hydrogen.

I prefer the excitability of hydrogen, especially on vehicle, with the potential for near invisible flames.
