The rep for Magnusson at SEMA sounds very nervous and not confident in his tone of voice.

I like how the blower has a bypass. that's smart. I almost would like full control over it almost like when you want nitrous. Hoping @OVTune can piggyback the offering soon. I would like to consider @OVTune 's SC package as well.

So, 105mm pulley gives about 6lbs of boost. It can go down to a 72mm pulley, and each 5mm adds 2 lbs of boost. Add the 7, carry the 3, take the cube root. My back of the napkin math says 18ish lbs with the 72mm pulley. :hungry:

Ya, if I went this route I would have to get a pulley that would give me 400hp to the wheels. Those are the numbers I have in my head for some reason. That is what I want. Just seems easier and cheaper to go with a kit from ovtune that will get me there right off the bat.

Exactly my thoughts and at the same time the transmission is tuned to work with the TT/SC setup.

Versus Magnusson can have a flawed transmission coding because they invested most of their money in a CARB sticker.

I love what Mat has done with 2.0. It is a night and day difference in the way it shifts. Pair that with 400 hp and I think I will finally have a truck that will put a smile on my face every time I get in it.

Good to have options, no reason to turn this thread into a ‘why I wouldn’t buy anything except ovtune thread’.

I saw an instagram post that Magnuson plans to release a "tuner" kit first which tells me that one of their hold ups coming to market is the tuning side of things.

I personally would love to order the Magnuson SC as a tuner kit and then use the OVTuning software. End goal for me is the SC with catted dump tubes and catted y pipes and OVTuning to optimize the engine and trans.

To be fair this is an ovtune thread lol.

That would be a good option, however more expensive on the tuning side. Then you are going to have to pay for custom tuning from Mat or wait for him to develop his own calibration for it. I love the idea of his twins, but I still need to pass emissions too so I don't know if they will even be an option for me if they don't have dual cats. That's why the rotrex makes more sense, but I love turbos. Turbos are perfect for the way I drive and what I want, just not ideal for emissions reasons.

    Nice design.
Swapping crank pulleys out is a bit more than "sears tools" job. Our S/C kit uses our billet Crank pulley and it's not exactly a hand tool procedure.
The belt setup, just judging by the pictures only, looks nicer than Harrops. however There really isn't that much detail of Harrops right now anyway.

    A few things >
    1. We will absolutely be tuning these setups day 1 of release, and will be pre-ordering a kit.
    2. We're getting a second tacoma so we can have a true .. Turbo vs S/C battle
    3. Tuning (from us) Wont be much more than our standard kit (new customer) or small upgrade fee if you own our kit. Nice thing is we did boost tuning and testing over the last several months so we've already got that well sorted.
    4. Our TT kit aint that far away, and it's top mount :)
    5. HP Tuners based tunes will not have any of the custom code stuff we have designed in house, and custom boost code we've developed

Both Harrop and Magnuson will be offering a tune likely through HPTuners, which is not compatible with our tune kits. So if you own our tune kits and do intend to get one of these there is no reason to purchase a second tune package (unless you need it for CARB) if you want us to tune it.
