    Lol
That’s on a Chevy obviously so that one is much much larger
But my point is that they have ones that look OEM and provide enough air and filtration while being able to be mounted where they need to be

I think most people would be fine with twin intakes as long as they look clean and like they belong.

I think the dual intake setup looks quite nice, and getting everything to fit with the stock airbox in the stock location is challenging. But I'll figure it out.

I think both options would look nice. Stock look or a clean dual setup. It would be awesome to have the choice of either.

    FYI,

    reading through the tacoma manual...
the tacoma fuel pump is variable pressure + variable duty cycle via PWM fuel pump controller.
Variable from 28 to 85 psi, with different duty cycles. (although I read in a different reference max pressure is 58)

However, we do not have an electronic fuel pressure regulator, so the duty cycle of the pump *should* translate to the pressure change.

The stock pump will vary in duty cycle by the Fuel pump ECM lowering or increasing voltage from 4.4 volts to 8.8 volts.
It does not look like our stock fuel pump is ever provided more than 8.8 volts. So, installing the 340lph (which is measured at 11 volts)... is not flowing 340lph.

take a very..rough mathematical figure here...
340/11 x/9, 340*9/11 (this is not an accurate way to calculate LPH/volt...just a "guesstimate" as DW, nor FiveO provide LPH by volt, but rather by pressure) ~ 278 LPH...

we will dive deeper this weekend.

    Our fuel system consists of:
ECU > which sends fuel pump control ECU demanded fuel and fuel pressure reading
    > Fuel pump control ECU PWM controller
    > electronic Fuel pressure sensor (low side, and high side)
    > returnless port injector fuel rail
    > no electronic fuel pressure regulator
    > internal fuel pressure (mechanical) in the tank..what psi it opens? good question

So, likely.. (and information on this is scarce...)
The ECU has required fuel pressures for X RPM and Y load.
    (4, to be exact, 28psi, 36.8psi, 49psi, 58.6psi...ECU says 58.6 psi..manual says "up to 85")

This is controlled by regulating voltage to the pump (4.4 ~ 8.8 volts)

    this madness to tune.
have to calculate > what a 340LPH pump does at 4.4 volts and 8.8 volts
have to calculate > what it then translates to, in LPH loss, from pressure change
have to calculate > This pressure change to injector cc flow change.
have to calculate > how this cc change converts to an fuel mass to air mass constant
and then! calculate how to incorporate this in the ECUs fuel injection volume routine.

As the ECU just runs the entire fuel model through a blender. injector lag time vs battery voltage vs pressure + injection minimum time
    + injection way (1/2/3)
    blended through DI and PI
to calculate a ms opening time on the port injectors
and calculate a mL for the DI
to get the AFR we want.

I'm dead. This explains the whacky AFR reading and discrepancy in bank readings when duty cycle changes.
give me a few days to put some of my own code into this.

    Toyota. Thanks.

Please keep me updated on this :)
As I am also in the woods on doing the fuel pump/system for my fuel cell, just going off the experience of Fuel Safe and someone way more experienced than myself

I don’t claim to know jack squat about what the fuel system replacement to make my fuel cell run right needed

I just wanted my fuel gage to work haha

Hi OVTune. Will the stock engine require upgrading to heavy-duty components like stronger Pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, camshaft, etc.

Anyways, fueling issues have set us back a few days.
So, likely finished dyno results, blog post, etc some time next week.

Dont overlook the electrical supply to an electric fuel pump.
Most auto mfgs use severely undersized wire to fuel pumps.
Sometimes significant output increases can be acheived by simply powering the pump with a heavier gage wire.

    Google "fuel pump hotwire kit"

Mechanical, Boost referenced, bypass style regulator would probably solve alot of problems... along with a walbro 340 on continuous 12 volts.
